We showcased Folkmanis’ Zero Puppet a few weeks ago but that isn’t the only Disney character the company makes – not by a long shot! Folkmanis also has puppets of more traditional Disney friends as well as those from Pixar and even Marvel.

The Fab Five (Plus One)
What would a Disney collection be without the Big Cheese and his Main Squeeze, Mickey and Minnie Mouse? Both characters actually have two different puppets, the larger 2017 version and 2019’s new “vintage” style.
The original Mickey Mouse puppet ($73.99) is 22-inches tall and 15-inches wide. He features a movable mouth and arms. Each portion of this puppet is full of detail. The gloves have embroidery on them, for example. And I love how Mickey’s pants and shoes appear to be clothes he is actually wearing (a convincing illusion).

Ironically, the most recent model of the Mickey Mouse puppet is dubbed “Vintage.” This one is slightly smaller, allowing him to be more affordable ($45.99). How much smaller? Well, he’s 18-inches tall and 14-inches wide. Just like the other Mickey, he has a movable mouth and arms.

The original Minnie Mouse puppet ($73.99), much like her Mickey counterpart, are relatively large. In fact, they share the same specs, in terms of measurements and features. Fans of the old gal will appreciate her lace pantaloons under her dress as well as the single flower stuck in her hat.

The Vintage Minnie Mouse puppet ($45.99) shares measurements and features with the Vintage Mickey. To be honest, I prefer the older model of the pair. There needs to be more of a distinction between the head and the torso. These look sort of neckless.

Now for the original good boy (and the bonus member of the Fab Five), Pluto! This puppet ($65.99) is one of four Folkmanis’ Disney Puppets that I own and I find him very amusing. He’s a big fellow, measuring 19-inches tall, 9-inches wide, and a lengthy 22-inches long. Pluto is most notable for the ability to raise his ears by squeezing the airbag in his forepaw on the same side. In addition to this feature, you can also move his mouth.

Another one of the puppets on the larger side, Goofy ($119.99), measures 37-inches tall and 14-inches wide. Yes, this puppet is about 3-feet tall. Like Mickey and Minnie, his attire is lovingly detailed and appears as though they are separate from him. There are even creases in his shoes. This silly fellow’s features include a movable mouth and arms.

The texture on Donald Duck‘s body ($85.99) is fittingly fluffier than the other puppets we have looked at so far. He measures 22-inches tall and 14-inches wide and has a movable mouth and arms.

Daisy Duck ($85.99) shares Donald’s feathery fluff exterior. The lady duck is the same height as her boyfriend, measuring 22-inches tall, but is slightly more svelte at 12-inches wide. As you would expect, Daisy has a movable mouth and arms.

Other Classic Disney Friends
What would a Disney collection be without our favorite silly old bear? The Winnie the Pooh from the action film, Christopher Robin, was used as the source material for this puppet ($71.99). Not only is his little red sweater actually woven but, just like the “real” Pooh, this puppet has jointed legs. He is 18-inches tall and 13-inches wide with a movable mouth and arms.

In terms of size, Jack Skellington ($159.99) is in a league of his own. This guy is 64-inches tall (!!!) and 19-inches wide. To manipulate him, you need to strap his feet on to yours while one hand is inserted into Jack’s head and another inside his gloved hand.

You can read all about Zero’s many details in my previous post but here is the bare bones summary. The ghostly pup is 9-inches tall, 6-inches wide, and 30-inches long. His features include a movable mouth and a light-up nose along with diaphanous fabric that, as Folkmanis puts it, “enhances its supernatural appeal.”

PIXAR Pals
Remy ($67.99) of Ratatouille just might be my favorite of Folkmanis’ Disney puppets. The little chef is 18-inches tall and 8-inches wide with a movable mouth and arms. And fun fact: he looks fantastic in many of Duffy the Disney Bear’s outfits!

Pixar’s very good boy, Dug ($119.99), is an impressive recreation of the lovable golden retriever from Up. Dug is a rather large canine, measuring 15-inches tall, 12-inches wide, and 20-inches long. Along with the ability to manipulate his mouth, his collar has light and sound elements.

Marvel Buddies
I am Groot. I mean, he is Groot. This puppet ($47.99) is Folkmanis’ first entry for the Marvel Universe. Groot is manipulated in a slightly different manner than the others we discussed. Rather than putting your entire hand in this puppet, there are openings in the head, arms, and the back of the leg to stick your finger into. He also has a swivel head and jointed limbs for extra posing options. Measurements are 18-inches tall and 9-inches wide.
