Disney Parks exclusive rain gear arrived at the Disneyland Resort on May 13. It seemed like weird timing for us in California, where May is historically a dry month. But as if by magic, the week of the product release we were hit with rain! In Florida, sudden showers happen all-year ’round, but for us in CA, it’s a miracle!

This sudden storm gave us an excellent excuse to splurge on the collection of rain essentials. And many guests did just that! Here, we explore these new options for the next time it rains (or if you need a little extra Splash Mountain protection – no judgment).

Do Mice Like the Rain?

The first set of products are themed to the first couple of Disney, Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The items designed after them include two ponchos and two umbrellas.

Both of the ponchos are higher quality than the typically clear ones sold on rainy days. They have a zippered pocket in the front and a lined hood.

Minnie’s hood lining is a solid red color but Mickey’s is pretty cool. It has a pattern with images of different attractions and park icons.

Both umbrellas have the same “Mickey glove” handle and have pop-up “mouse ears” on top. You’ll see the Minnie umbrella in the picture several images up. Both the Mickey and Minnie umbrellas incorporate the pattern found on the lining of the poncho’s hood.

Under the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Umbrella

The Enchanted Tiki Room set was my favorite in the collection. I loved the vibrant colors and that the pattern included the beloved avians of the attraction. A similar pattern can also be found on the attraction’s corresponding Spirit Jersey (you can read about it in our guide).

Instead of a poncho, a raincoat is available in the Tiki Room pattern. It is a standard raincoat design with a hood, snap buttons down the front, and pockets on the sides. You can see through the pattern just a little bit, which might be helpful to spot your party amongst a sea of Disney rain gear-wearing guests.

There’s an umbrella that utilizes the same pattern as the raincoat. What really stands out is the handle that has a bird sitting perched at the end of it (much like the glove on the Mickey and Minnie umbrellas).

Snacking in the Rain

The final set of rain gear is inspired by some of the tasty snacks found at Disney Parks. This opaque raincoat features icons like pretzels, candy apples, cupcakes and other delicacies (with Mickey ears added, of course) along with images representing attractions like it’s a small world, The Enchanted Tiki Room, and Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The umbrella for this set resembles a donut … with Mickey ears. As silly as this sounds, this one seemed to be very popular.

Are You a Fan Disney’s New Rainwear?

Changing gears from cold weather to hot, these snack-inspired fans were on display along with the rain gear. The options were an ice cream cone, a lollipop, and a Dole Whip (sometimes referred to in merchandise as an Aloha Swirl).

Rinse and Repeat

We previously shared the news of Rinse Soap opening in Downtown Disney. The store specializes in bath and body products, such as bath bombs, lip balm, and handmade soaps. And while the store was cute, smelled lovely and had friendly staff, it has one big, huge, major problem . . . its location!

Rinse is located in the old Disney Travel Company office, just OUTSIDE of Downtown Disney’s security gates. Having to go back and forth through security with ever-increasing lines (which will definitely get worse once Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens) is enough to dissuade some from taking a peek inside. I do hope guests go in search of this new shop. It would be a shame if they failed because of a terrible location.

While we are on the topic, try the “Pepper Foot,” Dusty swears by it. The perfect way to pep up your aching feet after a long day in the theme parks.
