Flower & Garden, Now Blooming: Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival

Spring has sprung at Epcot! The International Flower & Garden festival is back, running from March 6th through June 3rd!

These first few photos of the festival are from the first day – Wednesday, March 6th. I tried out some new offerings as well as ordering returning favorites. Locals and vacationers flocked to Epcot, making it a busy day to try and capture everything!

I’ll be updating this as I re-visit the festival over the next few months, trying new dishes and discovering more festival features! Be sure to check back!

Flower & Garden Festival Topiaries

I don’t know about you, but when I think of Flower & Garden, I think of the Disney character topiaries. Long before Disney introduced the Outdoor Kitchens, this was what everyone came to see!

These magical topiaries are maintained year-round only to be seen for a few weeks. I’ve listed out all the main topiary in the festival. I’ve got photos of many of them for you and will add more soon.

Flower & Garden Festival Outdoor Kitchens

The real surprise of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is the great food. As I’ve stated before, I’ll update this section as I journey through the Outdoor Kitchen menus each visit. For now, here’s what I tried! To see more of what we’ve tried thus far, check out our “Blooming Soon” Flower & Garden preview article.

Making our way around the World Showcase counter-clockwise, we made our first stop at Trowel & Trellis. This Outdoor Kitchen made its festival debut this year, and is sponsored by Impossible Foods. The menu is completely plant-based – a welcome addition for vegans! Two of the menu items are also gluten-free.

Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread, Trowel & Trellis… SO. GOOD.

Next stop, China!

House-made Crab & Cheese Wontons, Lotus House

Vegetable Spring Rolls, Lotus House

Both of these were okay. They satisfy a craving, but nothing special from your typical Chinese food fare.

Now, one of my favorite pavilions… Japan!

Chilled Soba Noodle Salad with Pan-seared Tuna and Wasabi Dressing, Hanami

Frushi: Fresh Pineapple, Strawberry and Melon rolled with Coconut Rice, sprinkled with Toasted Coconut, Whipped Cream with Raspberry Sauce on the side. Not only pretty, but also refreshingly delicious!
