Here’s part two of our beautiful photo tour of Seoul, South Korea thanks to Toby Johnson. If you recall, Toby took several of the courtesy tours that are offered out of the Incheon Airport while on a layover flying home from Hong Kong. You can view part one of Toby’s report right [HERE]. –Rick
We next travel on foot to the nearby Insadong Street.

A very large flower decoration being transported by bicycle.

The included lunch is here in this charming and cozy establishment. Your tour guide will take your order with a choice of beef or vegetarian earlier on the bus so that is it ready to eat when the group arrives.

Kimchi and other Korean delicacies. The steaming hot soup was especially comforting on this chilly morning.

Because the tour needs to stay on schedule, you have a set amount of time to eat as well as shop the nearby streets before being back at the meeting point.
I felt a bit rushed and I would have liked a bit more time to explore, so please plan accordingly.

These famous ice cream cones have been featured on TV.

City views on the bus ride back to the airport.

Our second free Transit Tour departs from South Korea’s Incheon Airport

An amazing sight to behold is the beautiful sea and shore lines with its famous low and high tides.

We see many interesting and unusual things along the way. I loved these turtles.

Wolmi Park is the first stop

Here at the park we visit the Korean Cultural Center.

A traditional costume experience is included with chances for photo ops. Here was our small group this day.

The beautiful grounds, flowers, and landscaping was breathtaking.

A traditional residence.

A visit to Shinpo market is next.
Our tour bus.

A variety of colorful foods.

I stumbled upon this section of the market which seemed to be a sort of children’s area with a small stage.

South Korea is famous for it’s street food. I had to try these fish cakes on a stick. They come in different varieties and you top them with ketchup, mustard, BBQ and or a spicy sauce. They are very filling and only cost about one dollar.

On this tour you will travel across the Incheon Grand Bridge.

On our way back to the airport we see the low tide. A large portion of the ocean floor is exposed every day at this time.

These free transit tours are a great way to get out of the airport and into the city. Although the time schedule felt a bit rushed at times, I would still highly recommend these experiences. You do have to go through customs and security if you want to leave the airport and take these tours, so make sure you allow ample time for that.
Thanks for journeying with me through my photo tour of South Korea!
