The Evil Queen’s Magic Mirror took the stage during Saturday night’s Disney Experiences Showcase and summoned Chairman of Disney Experiences, Thomas Mazloum, to make a wicked announcement about the all-new Villains-themed area coming to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Entering the dark forest of Villains Land
The announcement came with an official name for the new land as well as a full rundown of what to expect when guests step foot in the villainous new realm. Following suit with the other lands in the Magic Kingdom, the new area will officially be called Villains Land, telling an all-new story where villains are no longer tethered to their existing tales but instead invite guests to their new realm deep in a foreboding forest.
Guests straying off the “safe path” into this haunting forest will discover a broken wishing well. Once upon a time, a mysterious person made a wish so evil here that the wishing well’s magic was corrupted and the well was broken. The well’s poisoned magic seeped out and infected the surrounding forest. Naturally, villains were drawn to this now-evil forest and decided to call it home.

The Villains and their sophisticated all-new Lairs
The wishing well’s dark magic called to some of Disney’s most notorious villains, including Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier, who have moved in and used the land’s cursed magic to conjure their own “perfect new lairs.”
These villains aren’t hiding in the shadows in Villains Land — Disney describes them as “powerful, sophisticated, and with impeccable taste.” The new lairs these villains have conjured for themselves will be “elevated and elegant” and reflect their own style and personalities.
All-New Attractions in Villains Land
Villains Land will include two all-new attractions that will take guests on thrilling journeys alongside Disney’s classic baddies.
Maleficent-themed roller coaster
Guests will encounter Maleficent on a roller coaster that races through the enchanted briar that surrounds the powerful dark fairy’s imposing mountaintop fortress. Disney says this attraction will feature elements that have never before been attempted on a Disney coaster.

Mirror Realm dark ride
The land’s second attraction will be a dark ride that takes riders deep into the mysterious catacombs beneath the Evil Queen’s palace. Here, riders will come face-to-face with the Magic Mirror who transports them into his “mystical Mirror Realm,” summoning images from the “other side of the glass.”
A Villanously Large-Scale addition to the Magic Kingdom
Villains Land is being dreamed up on a massive scale. The new land coming to the Magic Kingdom will be built on the scale of the 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In addition to its new attractions and the villains’ lairs, Villains Land will also feature themed shopping, dining, and “places to have a little villainous fun.”

I still think that Dr facilier and Lawrence should both take over Tianas Bayou Adventure and retheme it to the princess and the frog splash levee based on the 2009 film and play Friends on the other side song. Or retheme as villain ride Dr facilier magic splash Bayou lair for Halloween season with spooky masks, dolls, skeletons, skulls and shadow spirits. The Tianas Bayou Adventure ride I feel is underwhelming and disappointing missing spoonbill birds, lady butterflies a little bluebird and a showboat featured in Tianas Bayou Adventure little golden book. Also the ride takes place in 1927 right before the Mississippi river flood disaster in real life American history.
As for cars land replacing rivers of America which I wished would not have been removed. I have mixed feelings about losing rivers of America, but I’m excited for cars land ride based on cars 3 with ms fritter bus from thunder hollow. I hope Dusty crophopper can make a cameo on the piston peak cars atv ride.

Some guests have commented online that the gothic, storybook illustration style looks like a MinaLima design. Did they work on this logo?
Crazy that Disney is moving forward with this, im excited to see how they plan every detail out.
