A strange adventure with some familiar friends.

Welcome, Illumineers, to the next episode of the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game! Our time in the frozen frivolity of Winterspell is nearing an end, and we now prepare to explore the untamed regions of the Disney Lorcana TCG in Set 12: Wilds Unknown.

Huge news and card reveals were announced today in the Lore Cast and we have all the details for you so you can explore Wilds Unknown from the coziness of your favorite web browser!

Exploring the strange wilderness

The next installment of Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game sends us on an uncharted expedition into the Wilds Unknown. This sojourn leads us into a realm fans have long hoped to see in Disney Lorcana: Pixar Animation Studios.

Set 12 of Disney Lorcana ushers in the first wave of Pixar Animation Studios’ characters and iconic franchises into the game.  Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Brave fire Pixar’s first arrow into Lorcana.

The artistic team at Ravensburger has given Pixar quite a welcome in their treatments and creation of these new Glimmers.  Pixar brings fresh franchises into Lorcana and introduces two new character classifications, Supers and Toys, and hits the bullseye with millennials and younger fans. Take a look at more of the astonishing art and card revealed today.

Set 11 Winterspell added seven more location cards into Disney Lorcana and a location-banishing action card, ‘Freeze The Vine.’  Set 12 looks to continue to add more locations with these exciting and interesting cards!

There was no way that Pizza Planet couldn’t be a card in Disney Lorcana and it’s amazing, even including the one-of-a-kind Pizza Planet Truck!  But both of these new locations include another interesting feature; the vine introduced in Set 11, Winterspell, continues to spread into Set 12, Wilds Unknown. The unrestrained vine can be seen reaching its way across the lands of Lorcana. The uncontained vine can be seen reaching it’s way all over the lands of Lorcana.

Wilds Unknown definitely explores the uncharted realms of Lorcana and we discover three distinct Biomes of Lorcana: the Wilderknot, an Amber/Emerald jungle; Torchlight Peak, an Amethyst/Steel mountainous terrain; and the Great Empty Sea, a Ruby/Sapphire area.  We will find out more about these biomes as we get deeper ‘into the unknown.’  Check your Wilds Unknown booster packs for the story cards to learn more.  

Travel down the rabbit hole

Also integrated into these biomes is a new mechanic, the Travelers.  

There are 12 Traveler cards, two for each ink color.  The ‘Traveler’ text is listed in the sub-name and these Travelers have a triggered effect when they quest after you play another character card that turn. The art of these Traveler promo cards is outstanding and the “Wilds Unknown” text on the card art is no fluke, that is on each of these promo versions of these cards.  The regular treatment of each card are also in the set as well as the other six Travelers that we have yet to see.  These promo cards are the six promo cards that will be in the new pre-release packs debuting this set on May 8th, 2026 at local game stores.

Each Pre-Release Pack will contain 6 booster packs of Wilds Unknown, several dice, 1 of 3 random postcards, and 1 of these 6 Traveler promo cards.  Available for $39.99 at pre-release events only.

Enchanting and Iconic

Each set of Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game by Ravensburger has an artistic style that permeates each card in the set and flourishes its characteristics in the Enchanted and Iconic cards in the set.  Wilds Unknown is no different with it’s ‘Lore Nouveau’ style, Disney Lorcana’s take on Art Nouveau featuring natural elements and the swooping, curved lines of plant life and botanicals.

The found elements of these Toy Story character cards is such a genuine feature and the artists weave it seamlessly into the art. It evokes memories of wandering through A Bug’s Land at Disney California Adventure.

It takes two to tango…

Wilds Unknown still has more gifts to give.  It introduces a new product to the lineup: a 2-Player Starter Set.  This product contains everything needed to play a one-on-one game of Disney Lorcana; two 60-card decks, two paper deck boxes, two Lore Counters, a Quick Start Guide, and damage counters.

The prebuilt decks included are designed for fun and play well against each other.  One deck contains mostly Toy characters from Toy Story and the other is built around Supers, especially The Incredibles!  This 2-Player Starter Set will also contain cards from outside Wilds Unknown.  It is available for $29.99 and releases on May 8th with the Wilds Unknown pre-release at local game stores, and Disney Parks and stores.  The next 2-Player Starter Set will release with Set 14 at the end of 2026.

Don’t Be Scared!

Boo! and her monster bodyguards trample their way into Lorcana as more Pixar Animation Studios franchises enter Lorcana.  Monsters, Inc. and Up will have a monster mashup of their own as they face the Vine that rambles and rages its way over Lorcana.  I can’t wait to see more of this set and perhaps a Mistress of Evil that is behind the villainous magic that drives this vile vine.

For now, try not to scream as you take a look at these card previews from Disney Lorcana Set 14: Attack of the Vine! that pre-releases on July 17th and has a full release at all retailers on July 24th, 2026.

You will definitely need a scream container to hold the excited outbursts at the full product line-up for Attack of the Vine!

Set 13 also includes a pre-release pack included in the product lineup and two playmats: one is the key art from Attack of the Vine!, and the other is the gorgeous Fabled Enchanted – Circle of Life art.  Also sold exclusively at Disney parks, a foil playmat of Pooh – Hunny Wizard, in a new incarnation…

Winnie the Pooh fans rejoice!  The third installment of the Illumineer’s Quest, The Great Hunny Rescue, is coming in October of 2026 and is priced at $59.99.  The creative glimmers and costumes of these familiar friends is enough to sell the game on its own.  Included in the Illumineer’s Quest are two prebuilt decks that can be used in co-operative game play.  You can also include decks of your own to play the Illumineer’s Quest and there is no limit to players in the game.

The hype for Attack of the Vine! will be soaring like a song on the wind, but in the 4th Quarter of 2026 Disney Lorcana will get ‘un poco loco!’ 

The Golden Age of the Future!

Our first glimpse of Set 14 of Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City is a vibrant, fantastic scene featuring Miguel, the musical main character from Pixar’s film Coco.  This scene is so exciting and I can’t wait to find out more.  The detail in the background of the Calavera version of Sid’s shirt from Toy Story is not only amazing, but also shows the depth of creativity and integration in the art and story of Disney Lorcana by Ravensburger.  I am so excited for the future of Disney Lorcana!  Also Disney history fans will note the allusion to the Hyperion Studio, the location where Walt Disney Studios truly began with the creation of Mickey Mouse and its first full-length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Onward to next year!

The Pixar plays don’t stop as we get into the new year.  Quarter 1 of 2027 introduces the Onward franchise into Lorcana.  The themes of this film should play so well into Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game and Glimmers of Ian and Barley Lightfoot will have no bounds.  And I for one also can’t wait to see Guinevere!
