Bluey has arrived at Disneyland with a new stage show that’s already drawing big crowds at the Fantasyland Theatre. But does “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” live up to the hype—and is it worth carving out time in an already packed park day? We checked it out during a preview and have everything you need to know before you go.

While the preview for Bluey’s Best Day Ever went off without a hitch on Saturday, March 21st, the show’s public debut the next day was immediately overwhelmed… a clear sign of just how strong demand is for Bluey’s first Disneyland appearance. Lines quickly stretched toward Sleeping Beauty Castle, and not all guests who wanted to see the show were able to. By Monday, March 23rd, conditions had stabilized, with waits closer to what we’d expect.

What is “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!”?

The Fantasyland Theatre is now home to “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!”, a high-energy stage show built around the characters from the popular Australian kids’ show, Bluey. Bluey and her sister Bingo appear live alongside a small cast of performers and a live band, blending short scenes, music, and interactive dance segments.

There are two rotating versions of the show throughout the day, each featuring different characters and moments from the series. Check the Disneyland app for showtimes…they fill up quickly.

In addition to the live entertainment aspect, there are also installations for active and imaginative play. Families are free to enjoy the space between scheduled shows. Within the event area, Troubadour Tavern also offers Bluey-themed snacks.

Is “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” worth your time?

For families with younger kids, especially preschool through early elementary, this is an easy win. The show is short, interactive, and hopefully won’t require a long wait once the initial surge is over.

For older kids (or adults without little ones), it’s more situational. The live music and production are well done, but the experience is clearly designed for participation rather than passive viewing.

Is there a Bluey Meet ‘n Greet?

No, there is not a traditional character meet ‘n greet with Bluey characters at this time. The only way to see the Heeler sisters is during the show.

Bluey and Bingo appear in person, to the delight of the fans who squeal with excitement each time they dance onto the stage! Other favorite characters show up during the “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” shows. There are two different shows, so you won’t know exactly who you’ll see.

The clever stage arrangement includes a ramp, which Bluey and Bingo use to get closer to guests. A short barricade prevents kids from grabbing the characters or running on stage (we can only hope!). I thought the stage design was a pleasant compromise that allowed kids a closer look without losing the feeling that the characters are joining the dance party.

Top Tips for Enjoying “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!”

The stage show is highly energetic and colorful, with many clever nods to the series. This is not a static production. Guests are encouraged to be major participants in the “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” show… allowing them to sing, cheer, and dance along.

Best place to watch “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” show

The best spot to watch the Bluey show will depend upon your child, their age, and their particular desires for participating in the experience. Nearly every seat in the Fantasyland Theatre offers a great view of the stage.

My daughter, age 9, was content to watch the show without dancing. She is a Bluey “mega-fan”, satisfied with taking in all of the highlighted details during the event. She was content to sit in the bleacher seats.

However, my 2-year old granddaughter hit the dance floor, jumping along to the music. Sitting closer to the dance area is preferable for toddlers or kids who need to move.

Live music adds to the excitement

If you’re hoping to hear the iconic Bluey theme song, you’re in luck! A five-piece band on drums, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, and trombone play musical arrangements live on stage during the event.

It’s wonderful to see live entertainment in the theme parks, when so much of it has been cut back in recent years.

Watch for surprises and special appearances

There’s more to Bluey than the Heeler family! Fans of the show will be delighted to spot additional characters, including Chattermax, Unicorse, and the Grannies. Screens on the sides of the stage feature animated versions of other characters that don’t make personal appearances.

Watch for a cavalcade with inflatables of Bluey’s friends, including Jack, MacKenzie, Indy, Honey, and Rusty on the dance floor.

There’s even a lively game of “Keepy Uppy” with balloons between the performers and audience members.

Bluey Fun for Families at Disneyland

There are multiple areas to enjoy Bluey-themed fun during this event. Play areas at Bluey’s “Fun Fair” are themed after show episodes to spark kids’ imaginations.

Naturally, these areas get very crowded with young children and their parents. Pack your patience and don’t lose sight of little ones!

Areas for imaginative play

In the upper section of the theatre, you’ll find an imaginary waterway with Barky Boats. In the lower grounds of the theatre, there is a life-sized Fairy Garden and Gnome Village. Cast members run games with children throughout the day.

“Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” Photo Opportunities

Families are encouraged to take snapshots while exploring the area. Bluey’s family car, the fair map, and a class photo with Bluey and her classmates are highlights.

Tips for Little Kids at “Bluey’s Best Day Ever”

Restrooms are located near Troubadour Tavern and they tend to get congested. Aim to use the bathrooms beforehand, either in Fantasyland or Mickey’s Toontown.

Pack snacks, especially if lines are long for Troubadour Tavern. Families may bring in food and drinks to enjoy while watching the show from the seats.

There is stroller parking in the upper theatre area, as strollers are not permitted within the event area. Another option is to park the stroller near it’s a small world.

The Fantasyland Theatre is open-air, but the seating is fully shaded, so it’s a pleasant respite from the heat.

Expect crowds, especially when the event is new. Check the Disneyland app for exact show times, then aim to arrive early and find seating. Allow enough time in your schedule for kids to properly explore the area.

Bluey Themed Disney Eats at Disneyland

Troubadour Tavern serves up Bluey-themed bites, both savory and sweet. Some of the snacks have a whimsical, almost cartoon-like appearance, which definitely appeals to the younger crowd.

As a casual watcher of the Bluey series, I wasn’t sure of the significance of these particular themed eats. My daughter was happy to fill me in on the meaning behind the Pizza Girls Baked Potato and Poffertjes! Poffertjes!, quoting the episodes that inspired each dish.

If you plan to try any of these snacks, I highly recommend using the Mobile Ordering feature early in the day.

Honest Opinions about Bluey Snack Items at Disneyland

Magic “Asparagus” Pretzel is a basic pretzel rod coated in green-colored white chocolate. I thought this was cute to look at, but not particularly appetizing. The green coloring tends to stain tongues and chocolate will melt in your hands, so keep it in the wrapper.

My daughter said this was her favorite snack, though, so that suggests it’s definitely aimed more at kids.

Pavlova Parfait was one of my favorites, with tiny meringue bites, vanilla yogurt mousse, berry compote, vanilla cake, fresh berries, and candied kiwi. It is quite delicious and not overly sweet, with Instagram-worthy charm.

Poffertjes! Poffertjes! are mini Dutch pancakes topped with buttered condensed milk and powdered sugar. These are sweet, tiny bites that kids will love, but they were underwhelming for me.

Coffee-lovers will delight in the Mud Cake Cold Brew, a Joffrey’s Coffee French Roast Cold Brew with a malted milk topper, fudge brownie bits, and festive sprinkles. I’m not a coffee drinker, so we didn’t try.

Lime Ice Block Drink is highly refreshing! We all loved the pineapple limeade with coconut milk drink and watermelon ice block topper. This refreshment is non-alcoholic, so everyone can enjoy it. The Watermelon Ice Block popsicle is also sold separately.

If you’re looking for something heartier, there’s a kids meal offering as well. Try the Mini All-Beef Hot Dog served with a Cuties Mandarin Orange, applesauce, and a choice of small DASANI Water or low-fat milk. It’s priced at a reasonable $5.99.

The other hearty item is the Pizza Girls Baked Potato. Pepperoni, sausage, bacon bits, marinara, mozzarella, alfredo sauce, and parmesan herbs top a large baked potato. I wasn’t sure how this one would taste, but was pleasantly surprised. It’s delicious and makes a great meal, or a snack to share.

One food item is sold elsewhere. The Stumpfest Cake can be found at the Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. It’s a chocolate roulade with white chocolate mousse and ganache.
