On February 7, 2026, hundreds of Disney fans raced through Disneyland in one of our most unique fan traditions: the MiceChat Gumball Rally. Teams compete to experience as many attractions as possible in a single day, solving ride-specific challenges along the way and racing the clock until the event ends.
This year, the Villains took over. Teams arrived ready to impress their sinister “heads of house,” hoping to earn the honor of becoming official Disney villains by day’s end.

Friday’s “Villains’ Night Out” Kickoff Party
The Gumball Rally weekend began with its traditional kickoff event at The Anaheim Hotel, setting the tone for a full weekend of friendly competition and Disney fandom.
The evening opened with a deliciously wicked Disney Villains medley performed by Jeff Hoeppner, music director and producer of Disney music, including for Hollywood Bowl live events, instantly putting guests in the spirit of the weekend.
Guests were then treated to a lively panel discussion and Q&A hosted by the talented and hilarious Daniel Ross (voice of Donald Duck). The panel featured a remarkable lineup of Disney voices and storytellers, including Camille Dixon and Bill Rogers, the former voices of Disney California Adventure and Disneyland, along with Rick Farmiloe, Disney animator known for Scuttle, LeFou, and many beloved sidekicks, and Julie Tremaine, author and Disney historian.
Together, they shared stories, memories, and behind-the-scenes insights that had the crowd laughing, reminiscing, and fully energized for the big day ahead.
Gumball Rally 2026 Twists Revealed! (Cue evil laughter)
This was the biggest and most ambitious Gumball Rally yet. Not only did teams race to complete attractions, they were also tasked with four villainous side quests designed to test their ability to carry out truly evil schemes. And just when teams thought they understood the game, the twists kept coming.
In the weeks leading up to the Rally, teams were asked to sort themselves into one of four Villain Houses: Storms, Shadows, Fire, or Claws. Speculation ran wild. Would each house receive its own book? Would houses determine the starting route? As it turns out, the sorting ceremony was a deliciously nefarious misdirection.
Instead of four books, the 2026 Rally featured five.
Four of the books challenged teams to complete attractions worth one point each, along with a five-point house-themed quest. Meanwhile, every leg of the Disneyland Railroad was placed on a different book and assigned a mystery point value, to be revealed later during the evening awards show.
But the biggest surprise of all was the mysterious fifth book. Every team began the day together in Fantasyland, racing through the park’s classic dark rides in a shared opening challenge before setting off to choose their own destiny for the rest of the day.
Once teams completed the opening book, strategy took over as they swapped game books throughout the park and charted their own path to victory.
Race to the finish… The Villains relocated their HQ to the Anaheim Hotel, forcing teams to race down Harbor to the finish line by 7 pm- one of the latest finish times to date. VIP teams were then treated to a delicious dinner and non VIP teams were able to take advantage of a special Gumball Rally offer from Pizza Press.
The night continued with the Gumball Rally awards game show… themed to Press Your Luck this year… where the mystery point values of some of the day’s Gumball Rally questions were finally revealed and the day’s wild strategies paid off… or spectacularly backfired. With hundreds of exhausted competitors packed into the room, the energy was high as scores shifted and final standings came into focus.
Upon conclusion of the game show, the most SHOCKING announcement in Gumball Rally history was made! Next year’s theme- GUMBALL RALLY GAMES. Not only will the games take place in BOTH Disneyland and DCA, for the first time ever, but this will also be a TWO-DAY rally with a full day and night in Disneyland, followed by a day at DCA. For the first time ever, teams were given the opportunity to vote for their favorites… and like all amateur evildoers, most simply voted for themselves. However, a few teams stood out from the pack.

One of the most beautiful elements of the Gumball Rally is the family that has grown over the years. Playing in honor of a beloved teammate, after overcoming loss and heartbreak, is a true testament to the rally’s spirit. Thank you for continuing to be a part of our family.
Creator Division Awards
A separate division of influencer/creator teams played this year’s Rally with one distinction, they were allowed to use their phones to document the day. All other phone-related rules applied, including no use of the Disneyland app. This year’s bunch of creator teams were the fiercest group we have seen yet, and they all came to win (and make some really great content)

RANDOM RALLY STATS
- Average number of points earned: 40.77
- Average number of attractions completed 23.31
- Percent of teams who completed all four quests 47%
- 62 teams answered the question for Peter Pan
- We assessed a small number of teams for penalties such as splitting up while in a queue to use the restroom, answering the question for Walt (while he was out of commission), using phones for anything other than posting to social media, using mobile orders for food, etc. While most of those teams lost only the number of points we believed they had gained, a few were assessed substantial penalties. The purpose of the game is to ride as many attractions as possible in the time allotted. Teams may not enter answers for attractions they did not ride, nor may they split up to ride more attractions. Most importantly, no team may do anything that would give them an unfair advantage. So, if you pushed your way to the front of a line, left an attraction early, or wrote in answers for attractions you didn’t complete, you were deducted points.
The Gumball Rally is about strategy, fun, and fair play! While most teams that were deducted points likely didn’t intend to do anything wrong, it’s our spotters’ job to keep the playing field level.
