Whispers in the Well
The holidays are here, and while 2025 is coming to an end, Disney Lorcana by Ravensburger is surging forward through the turn of the year. We received an early Christmas present from Disney Lorcana and Ravensburger: a Whispers in the Well Illumineer’s Trove, Booster Box! Let’s take a deeper dive into the well!
The newest set, Whispers in the Well, has taken us on an adventure down into spooky places alongside ethereal beings and vile villains. Two of the most impactful and valuable cards from the set are these two conniving characters, Hades and Demona.
Whispers in the Well introduces the Gargoyles franchise into Lorcana as well as characters and cards based on the Disney adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. We get plenty of scares with cards like ‘Spooky Sight’ and ‘Sudden Scare,’ but the real terror strikes when the Headless Horseman cards slam onto the table with iterations of the character across both Ruby and Steel inks.
Boosted abilities
Whispers in the Well brought a new Keyword and game mechanic to Lorcana. The ‘Boost’ keyword gives a player an opportunity to gain unique abilities on a card by paying ink once per turn to put card(s) from the top of their deck face down under the now ‘Boosted’ card. These abilities open possibilities that can affect gameplay and generally allow more interaction at a cheaper cost.
To Infinity Weekend and Beyond!
Lorcana’s first Infinity Weekend is here! From December 12th-14th, all game stores that host official Organized Play will be hosting Infinity Constructed events and inviting all Illumineers to play. Infinity Constructed is a play format where all cards from Sets 1-10 can be used to create your deck, unlike the mainly used format of Core Constructed, where only cards from Sets 5-10 can be used. This weekend will surely bring some nostalgia for Illumineers who played in the first two years of the game. Check the Ravensburger Playhub online to find these events in your area.
A Growing Collection
Ravensburger has announced a new Lorcana product, Disney Lorcana Official Collector’s Guide books. Two editions will be coming on February 1, 2026, one book for Sets 1-4 and another for Sets 5-8. These books will have a complete illustrated version of every card released in the first two years and have new artwork and stories as well. These books will help those newer to Lorcana to follow the story that has been woven through all 8 sets over these two years. Each book retails at $19.99USD.
Ravensburger is also producing a 2-player set coming May 8th, 2026, that will be the easiest way to start playing the game. This new product has an MSRP of $29.99USD and will have everything 2 players need to play a match right out of the box, including a pre-built Amber Emerald deck and a Ruby Amethyst deck.
Happy Holidaze
We still have two months left before the next set of Disney Lorcana releases, and Whispers in the Well has been praised by players as being one of the most balanced sets, leading to a healthy Meta game, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking about the flurries of frozen fun that are to come.
Winterspell, the 11th set of Disney Lorcana, pre-releases on February 13th, 2026, at local game stores and Disney Parks and stores, and releases widely on February 20th.
This set will be full of Stitch and Angel, and the Caped Crusader, Dark Wing Duck, and all of his items and crime-fighting allies. We also get a delayed release of new products on March 13th, 2026, with the Stitch Edition of the Collection Starter Set ($29.99) and Scrooge McDuck Gift Box ($29.99), which also includes five not-pictured random booster packs.

Disney Lorcana by Ravensburger has enough new products to fill all your holiday stockings, and maybe you could even leave a sealed booster pack out for Santa Claus. I’d bet even he would want that Hades Iconic card, though it would be put on the naughty list.
