Tiana knows a thing or two about being “almost there”—but now, she’s taking flight. The beloved Disney princess is helping travelers reach their dream destinations aboard Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer, the newest Disney-themed aircraft in the Alaska Airlines fleet.

Adventure Flyer took its inaugural voyage from Portland to Disneyland on May 25, 2025—with none other than Princess Tiana herself in the boarding area to help celebrate.

Meet Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer

The Tiana-themed Boeing 737-800 is Alaska Airlines’ ninth Disneyland-themed aircraft to hit the skies, but it’s the first Disney Princess-themed plane in the partnership.

“For more than 25 years, Alaska Airlines and Disneyland Resort have collaborated to bring magic and happiness to the skies,” said Sybil Crum, vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Disneyland Resort. “As Disneyland Resort prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary, this latest addition honors our legacy and looks ahead to a bright future with Princess Tiana leading the way.”

Adventure Flyer is painted with artwork featuring Tiana, Louis the trumpet-playing alligator, and lots of critters from the bayou, which is inspired by both the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog and the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction, which opened at Disneyland in November 2024.

The intricately-decorated plane took artists more than 2,000 hours to paint — and the painstaking detail in the livery proves Princess Tiana’s point that sometimes, it’s worthwhile to “dig a little deeper.”

A close look at the artwork reveals trails of fireflies flowing from nose to tail with Mama Odie and Prince Naveen peeking out from the winglets… and, while there’s no specific The Princess and the Frog theming in the plane’s interior, a special Tiana-themed snack pack is available for kids through summer 2025 (while supplies last).

Booking a flight aboard Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer

Princess Tiana’s aircraft joins planes with Star Wars, Toy Story, and Mickey’s Toontown themes. All Disneyland planes in the Alaska fleet are integrated into the airline’s normal flight rotations, meaning any time you travel with Alaska Airlines, you may get lucky and end up on one of these themed aircraft. Sadly, this also means there’s no way to guarantee a ride aboard Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer, but there are ways to increase your chances of flying in true bayou style.

Alaska Airlines

When booking a specific Alaska Airlines flight via the airline’s website, there’s often a “details” button which may display the plane’s tail number — for Adventure Flyer that’s N596AS. Also, third-party sites may provide options to look up a plane by tail number and check the routes it’s scheduled to fly. The Tiana flight’s tail number currently shows upcoming flights between Portland (PDX) and Santa Ana (SNA), the airport closest to Disneyland.

Additional Disneyland-themed Planes

Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort Boeing (tail number N537AS) launched on October 7, 2019, with larger-than-life versions of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and a few more “Toy Story” friends.

The one-of-a-kind space black Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort (tail number N538NS) joined Alaska Airlines on May the Fourth 2022, with the iconic Millennium Falcon on the tail chased by TIE fighters.

Mickey’s Toontown Express (tail number 565AS) joined the Alaska Airlines fleet on November 1, 2023, adorned with images of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Daisy Duck in Mickey’s Toontown.

NOTE: We were told it’s always possible for any plane to be replaced with another plane — sometimes even up until an hour before take-off — but it’s still worth a try if you dream of catching a Disney-themed ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer hits the skies just in time for Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, which begins on May 16, 2025, and runs through summer 2026.
