Hong Kong Disneyland turns 20 this year, and the celebration is just getting started. While the park’s World of Frozen continues to pull in massive crowds, even more new experiences are on the way to mark the milestone—including a dazzling new stage show, a record-breaking parade, and more than 300 limited-time merchandise items.
Originally opening its gates on September 12, 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland has long felt like the “middle child” between Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort. But this summer, the middle child gets the spotlight—with a full-blown party that kicks off on June 28, 2025.
“This party is a vibrant celebration like never before,” said Christie Evangelisto, creative director of entertainment at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “Guests can get up close and interact with beloved Disney characters, both classic and new, as we bring everyone together for the festivities.”
Let’s take a look at everything planned for the “Most Magical Party of All!”
Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle
Pop music, character interactions, and dancing are all included in this 15-minute, concert-style show set against the Castle of Magical Dreams. Mickey and his friends, Duffy and pals, and princesses Aurora, Tiana, and Belle are all part of the Disney Friends: Party at the Castle fun… and all donning festive 20th-anniversary party attire to boot!
Plus, guests will want to keep their ears open for the park’s 20th-anniversary anthem and two brand-new songs while they watch for effects like fog, balloons, and colorful banners.
Friendtastic Parade: The Largest Parade in Hong Kong Disneyland History
Hong Kong Disneyland is calling the upcoming Friendtastic Parade “one of the centerpieces” of its 20th anniversary celebration, featuring 11 new floats, over 100 performers (including more than 30 Disney characters), music, never-before-seen costumes, and more.
During the 30-minute parade, floats themed around films like “Encanto,” Toy Story,” “Monsters Inc.,” “Turning Red,” “Inside Out,” and “Up” will fill the streets of the park, along with characters like Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, and the Disney Princesses.
The largest parade in the park’s history will also celebrate Hong Kong’s uniqueness through vibrant colors, costumes, Hong Kong’s signature bauhinia flower, and four original songs.
Is Momentous: Party in the Night Sky the Most Magical Show on Earth?
Each day of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary celebration will end with Momentous: Party in the Night Sky, a nighttime spectacular that will span the area from the Castle of Magical Dreams to Main Street, U.S.A.
The 30-minute show features eight multimedia elements, including 3D projection mapping, drones, illuminated water projections, and pyrotechnic effects. Characters like Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather from Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, and, of course, Mickey Mouse will also be featured.
And, thanks to a bit of pixie dust magic, a “2” and a Mickey Mouse head will appear above the castle in the night sky, representing 20 years of Hong Kong Disneyland magic.
Most Magical Party Food and Merchandise
But we all know there’s more to the Most Magical Party of All than parades, shows, and nighttime spectaculars. Like any good party, this one has plenty of food and beverage items, merchandise, and other celebratory activities for guests to check out.
Hong Kong Disneyland and its three resort hotels — Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge, and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel — will have more than 80 special food and beverage items to commemorate the anniversary event.
There will also be six different merch collections at the initial launch of Hong Kong Disneyland 20th anniversary merchandise — over 300 items, all available for a limited time.
Guests will also see 20th anniversary decor across Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, including balloon and latte art, and special mirror decorations inside merchandise shops.
Additional Anniversary Offerings at Hong Kong Disneyland
During the Most Magical Party celebration, Disney PhotoPass photographers will be taking complimentary party photos for guests. Simply let photographers snap a shot at a designated location, then download a complimentary photo in the Disney PhotoPass mobile app.
Resort hotel guests can bring the party to their rooms by booking a 20th Anniversary Magical Party Room Pack, and hotels will host special activities and give guests a complimentary gift to commemorate the anniversary.
