Getting Cozy with Disney’s New Fall Merchandise

Happy first day of Fall everyone! The heat is finally starting to subside, and our minds can’t help but turn to those relaxing autumnal activities we see in feel-good ads this time of year. Walking along a path strewn with fallen leaves. Sipping a freshly brewed cup of coffee on the porch in our PJs. And snuggling under a blanket on the couch with a good book. Don’t those sound delightful? Let’s top off those warm Fall fuzzies with an extra helping of pixie dust by infusing cozy Disney merchandise into the mix!

Sweaters, Sweatshirts, and Jackets – Oh My!

Add Disney magic (and extra warmth) to your Fall outfit with these pieces.

Some of the best Disney merchandise is the kind that pays homage to the lesser-known aspects of Disney films, like this BoxLunch-exclusive Cinderella Mice Patchwork Sweater ($59.90), which is styled after the ballgown the mice make for their beloved “Cinderelly.” The sweater is decorated with a velour bow applique, surrounded by embroidered mice busily “stitching” the piece together on the front and back.

This hoodie is modeled after the one Embarrassment wears (and occasionally hides in) in “Inside Out 2,” but has added details like the word “Embarrassment” embroidered across the chest and art of the anthropomorphized emotion printed on the back.

Loungefly’s Loki the WEEKENDR Hooded Jacket ($110) is from their COLLECTIV line. Highlights include a Loki-themed print on the lining, a chenille Loki helmet patch on the left chest, and “God of Mischief” printed along the shoulders.

Practically Perfect Pajamas

Taking its cue from the quaint motel in “Cars,” Cakeworthy’s unisex Cozy Cone PJ set ($54.95, currently marked down to $27.50) offers a restful sleep while decked out in glow-in-the-dark images of the rest stop’s signs.

Continuing with the orange theme, these Jack-o’-Lantern Halloween lounge pants ($29.99) and women’s pajama set ($49.99) embrace Halloween Disney-infused imagery while offering plenty of comfort for Fall.

But First, Coffee (or Tea)

Who doesn’t love a warm beverage on a crisp Autumn morning?

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company has two coffee blends that will kick the “cozy” factor up a notch. The Disney French Roast In-Room Blend ($14.99) is the same dark roast coffee offered in rooms at Disneyland and Walt Disney World resort hotels, letting you brew up some vacation nostalgia from your home kitchen. And the Daisy Duck Marvelous Maple Blend ($12.99) medium roast coffee with maple and nut flavors added. Both of these blends are available as ground or whole beans.

And if you are in more of a tea mood, you can still get a Disney fix in a cup, courtesy of Trader Nick’s Tea Company, which offers numerous distinct tea blends inspired by Disney Parks and movies. Two loose-leaf blends that caught my attention were Main Street Muffin ($9 for 50 grams and $16.50 for 100 grams) and Man-Catchin’ Beignets ($10 for 50 grams and $18 for 100 grams). The former combines black, green, and oolong teas with salted caramel, vanilla, and blueberries for a flavor reminiscent of a muffin fresh out of the oven. The latter is an oolong tea blend with hints of caramel, resulting in a flavor that recalls Princess Tiana’s showstopping, sugar-topped pastry.

New season, new mugs! These 17-ounce mugs ($16.99 each) with retro art of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald will hold your hot beverages nicely. And even better, they are microwave and dishwasher-safe!

The Perfect Recipe for a Blanket Burrito

You’ll feel cozy in no time when you are wrapped up in these blankets.

With this throw blanket ($49.90), you can visit Pooh and his buddies in your dreams during your next nap and never worry about getting lost. A map of the 100 Acre Wood is faithfully recreated across the 48-inch by 60-inch woven tapestry.

Alternatively, try wearing your blanket! The CozyChic Hooded Poncho for adults ($198) by Barefoot Dreams offers the same softness the high-end label is known for, along with a drawstring hood, front pouch pocket (perfect for your phone and headphones), and a giant Mickey Mouse on the back.

GUND recently introduced five Disney characters into their Toothpick plush line (MSRP is $25 each): Pluto, Marie, Figaro, Tigger, and Patch. The line is known for their floppy, dangly forms, making them especially fun to tote around. Each of these plushes is 15 inches tall, with stylized features and safety eyes. Which one is your favorite?

Steiff may be better known for their high-end heirloom plushes, but they also have plenty of toys that are more playtime-ready and financially accessible. One example is their Disney Originals Stitch plush ($39.95), a recent release that was a huge hit at the company’s booth at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August. Stitch sits at 9 inches tall and is made with a medium-pile fabric that is soothing to the touch. And, of course, you can’t miss Steiff’s signature yellow “button in ear” tag on the little alien’s left ear.

The Zero Cuddleez plush ($39.99), like other characters in the Disney Cuddleez line, is extra huggable with marshmallow-like, squishy insides and a super-soft velour exterior. Jack Skellington’s loyal ghost dog is 29 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 6.5 inches high, making him just the right size to cuddle with during naps. And as a bonus, we discovered that these plushes also tend to make good book rests when reading in bed.
