Get ready to take flight! Phoenix Rising, the newest roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa, is ready to take to the sky on July 21st.
Residing in the Pantopia area of the park, this brand new, suspended family coaster is inspired by the legend of the phoenix, features a maximum height of 80 feet, 1,831 feet of coaster track, and offers twists and turns while reaching speeds up to 44 mph! It is also the first coaster at the park to feature on-board audio, with a soundtrack created especially for the ride!
The heigh requirement for Phoenix Rising is just 42″, with a maximum height allowed of 77″ (6′ 5″).
I got to take a ride on Phoenix Rising during a media preview day, and while I love the big, intense coasters like Iron Gwazi, Montu, Cheetah Hunt, and Kumba, Phoenix Rising was quite fun and is a perfect addition to the park. It’s a great “introductory” coaster for thrill-seekers in training since it’s not intense and has zero inversions.
Annual Pass Member previews are currently underway for Phoenix Rising. Here is the current schedule:
