Fantasmic! is back and along with the show, Disneyland is again offering dining packages at three locations. But this time around Rancho del Zocalo is included instead of Hungry Bear. New to the lineup this year, it comes with good views of the performance and is the most affordable option for securing a good spot for the show. Fans of Fantasmic can enjoy a prix fixe meal, and a reserved viewing area, without having to worry about busting their Disneyland budget.

Your MiceChat crew has checked out the new Fantasmic dining option and we share everything you need to know about this affordable way to get a guaranteed seat for the show.

Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante’s Unique Disneyland History

Some may be familiar with Rancho del Zocalo for its flavorful Mexican fare. Others may know it for its close proximity to Big Thunder Mountain. Still, others may be savvy with its foodie history as the location where Doritos were born! Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante has been a fixture of Frontierland since 2001, but its origin story goes back even further. Opening in 1955 as Casa de Fritos (the birthplace of Doritos), the space transitioned into Casa Mexicana in 1982, followed by its current version. This year, fans have a new reason to recognize the longstanding eatery, as it joins with Fantasmic’s festivities. Let’s take a look at exactly what this special dining package has to offer!

Prix Fixe Adult & Kid’s Meals at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante

Guests can choose between a Mexican-Korean style lunch or dinner for Rancho del Zocalo’s standard dining package. Lunch runs from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, while dinner takes place from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Despite your time slot, the menu and pricing remain the same. Rancho del Zocalo is a great option for families, with both an adult and kid’s menu for the event. Lunch and dinner are an affordable $35 per guest (ages 10 and up) and $25 per child (ages 3-9) before tax and gratuity. You’ve got to eat, why not add a little bit more for show tickets?!

To give you an idea of the savings, the pricing for standard/premium Fantasmic dining packages at River Belle Terrace and the Blue Bayou cost between $55 to $89 per guest (ages 10 and up), and $30 to $45 per child (ages 3-9). Of course, River Belle Terrace and Blue Bayou are table service restaurants, while Rancho del Zocalo offers quick service, but the savings are considerable, making it a more viable option for larger groups and families.

Designated Fantasmic Viewing Location For Rancho del Zocalo Package

In addition to the meal, Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante’s Fantasmic Dining Package includes a designated viewing location for the show. Guests will be given a voucher to access the reserved area for one of Fantasmic’s two evening performances (9 pm or 10:30 pm). From what we’re hearing from guests, they’re happy to be in a more roomy location and enjoy the view the package affords.

We were there on opening night to observe the scene for ourselves. You can check out our placement below. As we walked up, we could go right to river’s edge.

We sat right here. A bit off-center and between two mist screens. The Blue Bayou package guests are sat in the true center of the viewing area, with River Bell Terrace guests on one side (toward Golden Horseshoe) and Rancho del Zocalo guests on the other (closer to Haunted Mansion). But for the lower cost, we were very happy just to have a guaranteed spot for the show without waiting for hours in the sun or ending up at the back of the viewing area.

How To Reserve Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante’s Fantasmic Dining Package

If you’re interested in booking Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante’s Fantasmic Dining package, simply head to the Disneyland app for advance reservations. Remember that, as always, you’ll need both park admission and a park reservation for the date you choose. Additional details can be found on Disneyland’s Fantasmic Dining Packages Page. With Hungry Bear absent from the lineup, we’re delighted to see Disneyland offering something on the affordable side of the equation, and we think guests will appreciate its value. Of course, you could always spend the afternoon waiting for a spot and save the money entirely… but those best spots at river’s edge are all now reserved for the three dining package options.
