Pixar Fest Arrives At Disneyland: Your Guide To Adventure!

We were at a media preview of the new parade. They placed us looking directly into the sun, but you’ll still get a good idea about this parade. It’s simple, and short, and clearly on a budget… but it’s also only temporary and contains many characters that kids and adults alike will enjoy seeing. 

 

Watch for Luca and Alberto, who appear as humans above the water and sea monsters below the water.

Parade viewing times are expected to be 3:15 and 5:45 PM most days (always check the Disneyland app for changes and additional information). And for those of you who know sign language, watch for the characters on the final float signing “Better Together” as part of their choreography.  

Parade Viewing Dining Package

For $69 per person* you can get a table and a seat along the parade route in front of the Sonoma Terrace at the Winery complex. The light bites include savory and sweet treats, cheeses, desserts, and Pixar-inspired delights. The package includes unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, and a specialty mocktail. If you can afford the extra cost, it’s a great way to take a break, got a little something to eat, and upfront seating. 

Return of ‘Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular’

When night falls, don’t miss the return of “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” at Disneyland Park. This show takes viewers on an emotional journey through friendship across various Pixar tales. Pro tip: there are good viewing spots along the Rivers of America, Small World Mall, and Main Street, U.S.A. But if you want to see the flyby from Buzz Lightyear and the house from Up, you’ll need to be on Main Street or in front of the Castle.  

While the show isn’t as cohesive as Wondrous Journeys, it does pack in a lot of visual wizardry into 15 minutes. EVERY Pixar film is included in this show.  

There’s an advantage to watching from anywhere on Main Street as projections sweep up and down the street and there are some inflatable surprises as well… like this moment from the Coco segment…

PRO TIP: If you watch Together Forever from Small World, here’s a fun game. There are 6 hidden mickeys throughout the show. But you’ll have to look very closely… they are very, very hidden. Let us know if and where you find them! 

Club Pixar at the Hollywood Backlot

Disney California Adventure’s Hollywood Backlot transforms into Club Pixar, a hub of daytime activities and nighttime festivities. Snap some pics against Pixar-themed backdrops by day, and by night, shake a leg at the DJ dance party. Don’t forget to try the themed snacks—they’re a rave!

Be sure to walk around the area. The Shorts Stop Drive-In is a charming spot to sit and watch the Pixar Shorts. The chairs look like vintage cars! 

The stage has fun images and high-energy dancers as well. 

Pixar Pals Playtime Party at Fantasyland Theatre

Dance, play, and enjoy crafts and photo opportunities throughout the day at the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland. Between the high-energy dance shows, a selection of iconic Pixar shorts will be shown on the big screen.

Throughout the are are photo ops, craft stations, a dance stage, and plenty of floor space for interactive playtime games and dance. 

But our favorite part of the experience are the character dance routines. Edna Mode dancing to a Pixar remix of Madonna’s Vogue? Yep, that’s a real thing, and it’s amazing…

Or Sadness moping her way through “Walking on Sunshine.”  Worth the wait, I assure you…

This will be a great place to see characters. Many of your Pixar favorites are located here for meet and greets and the dance show. 

Pixar Fest Themed Foods and Marketplaces

It’s not just entertainment and characters, Pixar Fest is also… A FOOD FEST!!! From the iconic Pixar Fest cake at Plaza Inn to innovative culinary creations at the marketplaces in Disney California Adventure (starting May 10), your taste buds are in for a treat. Whether you crave Italian from Portorosso Pasta or some soulful bites from The Spark, each menu promises a Pixar story you can eat.

Pixar Fest Character Encounters

Ever wanted to meet Ember from Elemental or hang out with Joy and Sadness from Inside Out? Throughout both parks, you’ll find your favorite Pixar characters ready for a photo op. Don’t be shy — your Pixar pals are waiting!

Pixar Fest Merchandise

Throughout Disneyland Resort From trendy tees to must-have accessories, new merchandise inspired by Pixar films have begun appearing around Disneyland Resort. These are perfect for showing off your Pixar pride or taking a piece of the magic home. 

In addition to the shirts, mugs, and other keepsakes, keep an eye out for popcorn buckets, sippers, and charms. The Pizza Planet truck popcorn bucket and other delightful novelties that will surely pop up during the fest.
