Prepare, fellow phantoms and thrill-seekers! As the fog prepares to blanket Ghost Town for the 50th year of Knott’s Scary Farm Halloween Haunt, a grand tribute has been unveiled: the Legacy Haunt Store & Museum. Delve into a realm bursting with nods to haunts of yesteryears, from full-scale setups like the Green Witch’s abode to cherished props from iconic Scary Farm mazes.
While its inspiration may hail from the shadows, the Legacy Store & Museum strikes a balance, making it spooky enough to set the mood, yet approachable for families. Venture inside, if you dare, and discover the chilling wonders that await… without needing a ticket. The Haunt Legacy Store is located just outside the park in the Marketplace near the bakery and Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner.
Legacy Tour
Below is a detailed photo tour, but to begin, I’ve put together a trailer to give a taste of the individual rooms, props, and effects.
Your tour begins in this house, which belongs to the Green Witch. In fact, she’s all over this room in her various forms from throughout Scary Farm history.
Much of the room is a tribute to Trick or Treat (a beloved maze), complete with the iconic entry stairs full of jack-o-lanterns and a fireplace burbling with witch’s brew.

Several locations around the shop have props and costumes from various former Scary Farm mazes.
Pass the threshold of the Witch’s house and find yourself in the Scary Farm graveyard.
Above the merchandise displays are tombstones memorializing former Scary Farm mazes from various past events.
Next to the graveyard are two photo ops. It’s quite easy to walk by this section with the way that it’s sectioned off, which is interesting considering this area also has two major merchandise pieces— the mausoleum Loungefly bag and the Scary Farm tiki mug.
A most terrifying carnival awaits you through the clown’s mouth…
Further past Carnevil is a museum area with a haunting portal into Ghost Town. The monsters periodically walk around and peer into the shop (I included a short clip in the video above). Chilling.
Much of this area is filled with museum displays, but a major one was given to the Mistress of the Dark herself, Elvira.
The other side is dedicated to the original 1973 Halloween Haunt and Seymour, The Master of the Macabre.
For reference, here’s the original ad for the 1973 three-night Halloween Haunt:
Tables fill the corners of the museum with disturbing props.
The walls (which have a delightfully aged Scary Farm 50 wallpaper) are covered in photos and concept art from over the years.
Finally, the area closest to checkout is themed to what started it all— Ghost Town Streets.
What better way to decorate Ghost Town than with Western skeletons?
The Knott’s Scary Farm 50th Legacy Haunt Store & Museum is now open for all your Halloween shopping needs. Now, let’s move on to the actual products, shall we?
Merchandise
This is a store, of course, so there’s plenty of merchandise to check out. Here are a few items I think will be popular.
Interactive Lantern
Knott’s is selling an interactive lantern that has over 100 unique activations throughout Scary Farm. We aren’t sure to what extent these activations might go, but they’ve included an example right here at the Legacy Store.

Pass by Sarah Marshall on the wall with your lantern and she’ll begin her encantations! Check out the video above if you haven’t already to see her in action.
The History of Knott’s Scary Farm
Updated for the 50th anniversary of Scary Farm, the 2nd edition of The History of Knott’s Scary Farm is displayed prominently. The author, Ted Dougherty will also be around to sign it on various days starting on the 22nd of September.
Scary Farm-opoly
Scary Farm-opoly is now the second board game Knott’s Berry Farm has worked on. When the original Knott’s-opoly came out, merchandise manager Karl Busche told me they were selling out very quickly! Hopefully, they’ve ordered a few more sets for this spooky Halloween edition.
Scary Farm Loungefly and Tiki Mugs
The final two items of note are the Loungefly bag and the Tiki mug.
The mausoleum Loungefly bag oozes with the essence of Scary Farm, complete with a depiction of the Conductor’s lantern. They’ve gone all out on the details too, with a Scary Farm 50 zipper and lining.
It seems like every tiki mug Knott’s Berry Farm has been putting out gets increasingly more interesting. They also sell out faster and faster.
