Walt Disney World Mickey’s Not-So Scary Halloween Party Details 2023

It may only be mid-August, but Halloween has arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween parties are back at the Magic Kingdom! The first party of the year kicked off last night, and we were there to take in all the spooky goodness (and lots of candy). Here’s a look at this year’s offerings…

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Details

Get ready, witches! The popular Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 11th through November 1st.

Tickets are available now but are selling quick. The cost to attend starts at $109 and varies by date. The party starts at 7pm and goes through midnight (ticketholders can arrive as early as 4pm and mix in with day guests). Here’s a look at the dates and pricing:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Entertainment

There’s a whole array of entertainment to discover at this year’s MNSSHP, including some returning favorites and new character opportunities! To get the most out of your evening, it’s best to make a list and prioritize what’s most important for you.

• Trick-or-treat your way through the park, filling up your bag of candy while donning your favorite not-so-scary Halloween costume.
• Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular! – Halloween castle stage show filled with notorious Disney Villains, lead by the Sanderson Sisters.
• Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular – Fireworks show featuring favorite Disney characters and hosted by Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
• Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade – this beloved parade features Disney characters and iconic floats inspired by Haunted Mansion and other spooky scenes. (New for 2023, see Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” in the parade!)

• Head over to Adventureland and take in a spirited pirate band performing spooky sea shanties, or Frontierland to catch the Cadaver Dans!
• Pop-up parties featuring Max Goof and his Powerline party pack appear throughout the park, ultimately making their way onto Main Street U.S.A. ahead of Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade.
• Exclusive step-in photo opportunities and character meet & greets, including all 7 of The Seven Dwarfs!

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular!

Performing on the Cinderella Castle stage, the Hocus Pocus Villain “Spelltacular!” brings out the Sanderson sisters to bewitch and bedazzle the partygoers at Magic Kingdom. This is a very popular show, so be sure to get to the stage area early.

Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks 

Join Jack Skellington and other Disney characters in an incredible display of fireworks. This is a party-exclusive show, and it’s always a dazzling spectacle. You can see the fireworks from nearly anywhere in the park, but the projections play a big part of this show, as well as the Jack Skellington puppet on the castle stage. You can’t beat a front-and-center spot to catch this show!

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade

This parade is one of the highlights of the party. Between the spirited performers, including the iconic Headless Horseman, Haunted Mansion gravediggers, dancing ghosts, and an earworm of a song; Boo-to-You is a lot of fun to watch!

 

Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet

Standing on the rooftops of Frontierland, be sure to keep an eye out for the Cadaver Dans. They’ll entertain guests with frightful songs and deadpan humor. The Dans are always a treat. 

Trick-or-Treat

Although the Halloween entertainment is an obvious upside of the party, it wouldn’t be a true Halloween event without some candy. Upon entering the party, you’ll be given a complimentary reusable trick-or-treat bag (you can also bring your own!).

All across the park, you can collect treats presented by MARS candy (think M&M’s, Snickers, and Skittles!) to enjoy during the party… and after! There are also allergy-friendly options available, be sure to ask about the special station where guests with allergies can receive a bag of allergy-friendly treats.

Wearing a Costume to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Part of the fun of the Halloween party is the opportunity to dress up in a costume. Just know that it’s Florida and event nights start in mid-August, so expect it to still be quite warm at night! Additionally, Disney has some policies regarding costumes you should be aware of. Most notably, costumes should be family-friendly, capes should be shorter than waist length, masks are mostly forbidden for guests older than 14, and Disney doesn’t want other guests to think you are a real character… so don’t pose for photos with strangers.  (Full Disney Costume Policy)

Magic Kingdom Halloween Party Attractions

During the party, most of Magic Kingdom’s attractions will be available to ride… and some will even have a special Halloween twist. If attractions are important to you, then this limited-capacity party is the perfect opportunity to ride whatever you’d like with minimal waits. Here are the attractions with a Halloween surprise attached:

Mad Tea Party – During the party, this attraction has special lighting that gives it an eerie flair. 

Space Mountain – If you think the regular version of Space Mountain is intense, how about doing it in complete darkness? That’s what you can expect during the parties, plus there’s a special soundtrack that’s exclusive to this version of the classic attraction.

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor – If you’re looking for something lighthearted, the Laugh Floor is the perfect place to be. For Halloween, the show is spruced up a little to make it seasonal. You’ll be chuckling the whole time.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Merchandise

One of the best things about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the event-exclusive merchandise. Here’s a quick look at what you can pick up at the party. 

The party-exclusive Spirit Jersey is sure to be a hit this year. It glows in the dark, too!

Event-exclusive souvenirs include The Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor’s Car popcorn bucket, as well as a glow-in-the-dark Donald Duck candy corn sipper.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Food

It wouldn’t be a Disney Parks special event without some exclusive food. There are some items that will be available during normal park hours too, so even if you’re not going to one of the party nights, you can still enjoy something frightful.
