Hey, hungry Disney fans! We’ve got an update for you. Soon, nabbing a dining reservation at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World will be a little easier. Let’s feast our eyes on the new booking system for dining on either the Disneyland or Disney World mobile apps, or through the Disney websites.
These updates will be rolling out on Disney’s websites and iOS and Android apps as soon as…well, now, and continue over the coming days!

The main purpose of the update is to make it easier for guests to find available reservations. Instead of just a few available reservations showing for each location, the new version of Disney dining reservations will show ALL available reservation times for the location and meal period.

So, if you’ve ever wondered if Cinderella’s Royal Table is serving their breakfast of champions or their dinner fit for a king during your selected time, wonder no more. Reservation availability is now sorted by meal period, making it easier to see if you’re in for a royal breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

The Disneyland and Disney World booking platforms are also becoming more similar in their appearance. Below, we’ve pasted screenshots of how the web-based and mobile dining screens look currently and will look in the near future.

The dining changes should make it easier for guests to find an available dining spot, and know if a breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu will be served at that time.
Disney Dining Tips:
Just a few tasty tips to remember while you’re planning your culinary adventure at Disney…
- Due to limited availability, making dining reservations in advance is highly advised (at the restaurants that offer them).
- Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have a 60 day booking window. Unfortunately, it’s unclear exactly when those windows open. At Walt Disney World, availability generally opens at 6am. However, Disneyland sometimes opens availability at 3am, 6am, or even later. This is something we’d really like Disney to work on in the near future. Knowing when a reservation booking window will open is just too difficult to figure out, and often at times that require guests to wake up in the middle of the night to book.
- At Walt Disney World, guests staying in a Disney hotel can make reservations for their entire length of stay (for up to 10 nights) beginning 60 days before their arrival.
- The window to modify or cancel dining reservations has recently been changed from 24 hours before the reservation to two hours before a scheduled reservation at most locations.
- Guests frequently cancel reservations as their plans change, so even if a location you’d like to visit is fully booked, it could become available again later. It’s worth checking availability from time to time, or seeing if same-day walk-up is available.
- If you are unable to make an advance dining reservation, you may be able to add yourself to the Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability on the day of your visit (at participating restaurants).
