runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend
The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend occurs from November 3-5, 2023 at Walt Disney World Resort. This annual tradition dates back to 2010 and has had a variety of themes over the years. This year, the stars of the show are Figment and Encanto! Let’s take a look at the beautiful awards Disney has created for participants of this beloved tradition.
runDisney Wine & Dine 5K
During the 5K, runners participate in a 3.1-mile trek through EPCOT. Disney’s beloved animated tale, Alice in Wonderland comprises this race’s theme, showcasing fan-favorite characters. Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the Cheshire Cat adorn the finisher medal, in a pocket watch orientation, harkening back to the classic story.
runDisney Wine & Dine 10K
Beauty and the Beast is the theme of the Disney Wine & Dine 10K, which features a 6.2-mile course. This enchanting medal was created with a rotating feature! Beloved characters Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip adorn colorful centers, which contain Cinderella Castle in the background.
runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon
Mirabel has been a highly popular character since her debut in Encanto in 2021. The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon is devoted to the lively protagonist. Although it’s common knowledge that “we don’t talk about Bruno,” Mirabel’s outcast uncle also makes an appearance. Participants can bring home this magical medal after completing the 13.1-mile course.
Disney Two Course Challenge
Walt Disney World fans love their Figment, and after a recent trip to Florida, I can see why! A quirky, and charming character, he’s been delighting Guests as EPCOT’s mascot since 1983. Who better than Figment to represent the Disney Two Course Challenge? To obtain this coveted medal, participants will need to complete both the 10k and Half Marathon, totaling 19.3 miles. Notice the outline of his face and the light feature at the bottom. We love those special Disney touches.
Disneyland runDisney Half Marathon Returns in 2024
I don’t know about you, but I love anything Disney art related. Aren’t these medals beautiful? We appreciate the time artists took to create such magical mementos. Disney World fans are undoubtedly excited about this upcoming event, but what do Disneyland fans have to look forward to? As we reported earlier this year, Disneyland’s Half Marathon Weekend will return in 2024!
The 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is especially exciting because it’s been six years since fans have been able to participate. This epic runDisney offering takes place January 11 through 14, 2024. Here’s the lineup:
- January 11, 2024 – Disneyland Yoga
- January 12, 2024 – Disneyland 5k
- January 13, 2024 – Disneyland 10k
- January 13, 2024 – runDisney Kids Races
- January 14, 2024 – Disneyland Half Marathon
- January 13-14, 2024 – Dumbo Double Dare
Although all of the events listed above have already sold out, Guests can still participate in the Virtual Races which span from January 12 through 14, 2024. More about the runDisney Virtual Races (HERE).
