Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance:
Introduced as the crowning jewel of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in January 2020, Rise of the Resistance marked the final addition to the immersive land. While it arrived almost a year after the grand unveiling, the wait proved worthwhile. This groundbreaking attraction was heralded as the epitome of ambition within the park, blending interactive roleplaying, state-of-the-art trackless ride vehicles, and meticulously crafted set pieces. As you traverse the initially unremarkable cave-like section of the indoor queue, adorned with scattered rebel uniforms and props, prepare for an exhilarating shift once you enter the first preshow room. With the rebel alliance as our guide, let’s embark on this wild adventure together. Buckle up, for this promises to be an unforgettable, adrenaline-fueled experience!
As we enter the first preshow room, Rey informs us that the First Order is in the area and our position is no longer safe. We are to board a transport shuttle and be whisked off to a secret base on Pacara, where we will meet up with General Organa.
Lieutenant Bek informs us of the plan as Nien Nunb pilots the ship. Shortly after take-off, we are caught in the tractor beam of a First Order Destroyer that has discovered our ships. Our ship and its passengers are taken in for interrogation in an attempt to find the secret rebel base.
I don’t like the look of this.
You have what I want. You know the location of the secret base and I will take it from you.
We’re here to get you out!
Head down to the escape pod base. Those droids are programmed to return you to Batuu. Hurry and don’t get caught!
Probe Droid! You’re lucky it didn’t spot you!
No, No, NOT UP! I said down!
Sir, the prisoners have escaped.
How brave. but, ultimately hopeless. There’s nowhere to run.
There’s no escape! You will tell me the location of the secret base. Then, I will destroy you and the resistance!
Your escape route came in a little off-target. Ground crews will meet you outside the wreck.
Nice job recruits! Not what you signed on for, but hey, you’re resistance now! I think I have that authority! Right, Bek!? Where’s Bek? I need Eyes on Bek!

Rise of the Resistance is certainly one of the wildest rides I have ever experienced! As one of Disneyland’s newest attractions, it has certainly set a new bar for action in attractions! WDI pulled together so much technology that it really feels like you’re part of a Star Wars adventure. And while Rise is notoriously difficult to maintain— with frequent downtimes during the day— it really is a must-see for a first time visitor. I hope you enjoyed this week’s adventure.
