There’s nothing quite like having a friend join you on a trip to the Disneyland Resort. But sometimes, for one reason or another, you may find yourself adventuring on your own. Disney Shoulder Pal plushes do a great job keeping you company. The clever toys use an included magnetic patch to attach under your shirt’s shoulder, allowing them to ride along hands-free. These plushes are very popular and feature many characters, with more being added relatively frequently. Here are the Disney Shoulder Pal plushes currently available at the Disneyland Resort!
Disney Shoulder Pal plushes currently cost $22.99 each.
[Note: Additional Shoulder Pal plushes have been released in the past but were not available at the Disneyland Resort at press time and therefore omitted from this guide. We’ll add them soon.]
Abu (from “Aladdin”)
Aladdin’s monkey sidekick was released the same day as Aligator Loki and are the two newest Shoulder Pal plushes. I appreciate the little tufts of fabric on Abu’s head and chest, which add to the plush’s resemblance to his cartoon counterpart. It is also just an overall aesthetically pleasing detail.
Alebrije – two styles (from EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion)
You may think these two plushes were inspired by Disney*Pixar’s “Coco,” but they actually originated from EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. Modeled after alebrije, otherworldly creatures portrayed in Mexican folk art, the pair’s designs are fantastical and colorful. They come in styles resembling a dog or a lizard.
Alligator Loki (from Marvel’s “Loki” series on Disney+)
If you watched the Disney+ series “Loki” (and you should – it is phenomenal), you are familiar with and already crazy about Alligator Loki, a version of Loki from another timeline where the God of Mischief just happens to be an alligator. A 31-inch long plush of the character was released previously (with an 18-inch size now available on shopDisney), and now this Shoulder Pal version offers another way to show your love for the character.
Chuuby (from “Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway”)
The charming bird, Chuuby from “Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway” is one of the more popular Disney Shoulder Pal plushes currently sold at Disneyland. You’ll find this feathered friend in EngineEar Souvenirs at Disneyland’s Toontown.
Grogu (from “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” on Disney+)
The Grogu Shoulder Pal currently sold at the Disneyland Resort is an updated version of a previous design. The Child’s big eyes and ears are his defining characteristics. The fuzziness of the collar and sleeves on his coat is a thoughtful detail.
Groot (from Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”)
Groot was the original Disney Shoulder Pal plush. The miniature Flora Colossus boasts “bark” etchings printed onto the fabric, embroidered facial details, and teeny felt leaves sprouting from different places.
Hei Hei (from “Moana”)
Boat snack! The silly nature of Moana’s very confused rooster friend is portrayed through his eyes which are focusing on different directions.
Jiminy Cricket (from “Pinocchio”)
This charming plush Jiminy Cricket is not only garbed in his traditional coat and top hat but also has the medal he was awarded from the Blue Fairy. The slight pink shading on his nose adds a cartoon-like quality to his design.
Porg (from the Star Wars cinematic universe)
Like Grogu, the Porg Shoulder Pal plush is a revamped model. This version has molded plastic feet and safety eyes. This differs from most of Disney’s other Shoulder Pal plushes, which rely on embroidery, appliqué, and felt for details. And as an added bonus, the Porg has a sound box that makes the sounds you’d expect from the creature.
Sebastian (from “The Little Mermaid”)
With accurate proportions and an excellent design, this plush Sebastian is the perfect accessory for an Ariel Disneybound.
Tuk Tuk (from “Raya and the Last Dragon”)
Raya’s noble mount, Tuk Tuk, appears in its baby form for this Shoulder Pal. Its shell has textured fabric that gives the appearance of scales.
Zero (from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”)
Jack Skellington’s ghost dog includes a unique light-up feature. Squeezing him will cause his body to illuminate briefly before turning off. Although you can occasionally find Zero in other shopping locations (like the Emporium on Main Street, USA), the otherworldly pup is typically known to haunt the Port Royal Curios & Curiosities shop in New Orleans Square.
An Alternative to Disney Shoulder Pal Plushes
Remy of Disney*Pixar’s “Ratatouille” is one of the best-beloved (but currently out-of-stock) Disney Shoulder Pal plushes. But I have cooked up a way to have a larger, more talkative Remy join you on your Disneyland adventures!
My guide for using the plush in the Shoulder Pal style was shared on MiceMerch’s Instagram account (give it a follow for all your Disney merchandise needs!):
