Six Flags Magic Mountain has upped its seasonal offerings this year with new Spring Break events and festivals that have something for all age groups and any level of thrill seeker.  Spring Break Festivities include a new food festival, a weekend after-hours ticketed haunt experience called “Scream Bream,” and everyday extras all throughout March and April. So let’s explore what thrills await us!

Tacos and Beer Fest

The new Tacos and Beer Fest is set up to satisfy all the culinary thrills you could ever ask for.  A full lineup of 18 different types of tacos ranging from traditional flavors to unique modern flavors, and even a few dessert taco options! The taco is the perfect food to base a food festival around: it’s easy to make, easy to eat, and there are endless combinations, so let’s ‘Taco ‘bout it!’

There are definitely quite a few tacos that have piqued my interest. And tacos aren’t the only new items.  There are specialty cocktails and soft drinks during the festival as well, a few include Sapphire Lemonade, Spring Bling Sour, Strawberry Crème Soda, and a Virgin Margarita (don’t worry, I’m sure there are non-virgin margaritas on the regular menu as well).  Moreover, there are a myriad of craft & seasonal beers that also featured in the Tacos & Beer Fest.

And lastly, we come to dessert.  There are sweets for every level of sugar-fiend: Kettle Korn, Cajeta Caramel Churro, Buñuelos, French Toast Bread Pudding, an Orange Sherbet Float, and much more!

You can maximize your value by purchasing a Tasting Pass for $39.99 that you can use for 6 items on the Tacos & Beer Fest menu. This will allow you to save up to 50% in comparison to buying items a la carte. The Tasting Pass can be used for 6 food and/or nonalcoholic drinks or 5 food and/or nonalcoholic drinks and 1 alcoholic beverage.

Scream Break!

If you want a more thrill-forward vacation, Six Flags has you covered on that front too! During weekends of “Scream Break,” guests can enjoy a light version of the park’s Halloween horror event in an after-hours, specially-ticketed event Friday through Sunday until April 16.

Scream Break is exactly what haunt enthusiasts need in their life right now as we approach the midway point to Halloween. During Scream Break, you will find two mazes and three scare zones, each with a Spring Break-inspired twist.

Additionally, there are select attractions that are open during Scream Break, so you can get your adrenaline rush going. Take a ride on world-class roller coasters in the dark like Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage, Colassus, Goliath, and more until midnight!

Additionally, Devilish Treats and themed drinks like a sangria blood bag and syringe jello shots will be available for the fearless foodie to recover from being scared senseless.

There will be two separate dance floors each with its own DJ spinning undying melodies and playing the hottest hits so you can dance off all the frights and excitement of the night.

Because this is a separately-ticketed event, you can expect shorter wait times. The park’s regular operating day ends at 8pm Friday through Sunday, and Scream Break runs 9pm through midnight.

Six Flags Spring Break Round-Up

We’re curious about trying out Six Flags’ Spring/Scream Break offerings ourselves. There are several Food Festivals in the area at the moment, including The Disneyland Resort Food and Wine Festival and Knott’s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival. And we’re really interested in getting a dose of mid-year haunt too! Personally, I see good value in a $39.99 3-hour After-Hours event on a weekend.

I was excited to hear about these events from Six Flags. They’re tapping into a market that is actively looking for new experiences, especially since plenty of people are ready for haunt festivities year-round and the major summer season hasn’t begun yet.
