Adventurers, the time has come to explore the Temple of the Forbidden Eye once again! At long last, the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland has a return date after an extended refurbishment. Starting this Friday, March 17, Indiana Jones Adventure will be conducting tours again.
We’ve heard that when Indy reopens, we should not expect any new elements or story additions to be included. This extended refurbishment was just that, a deep refurb getting several components working again. While some sites (including us) were speculating that Indy could be getting some new additions in the attraction as a tie-in with the upcoming Indiana Jones movie releasing this year, we’ve been told this is not the case.
The popular thrill attraction at Disneyland has been under refurbishment since January 9. The last time we rode it, we saw that nearly all the special effects were broken. It was overdue for an in-depth refurbishment. Here is our ride-through just before the attraction went down for refurb.
While we have yet to see what the finished product looks like, we think that if Disneyland was able to fix many of the elements that were broken from our last ride, that’s certainly an improvement. We’re curious about which elements and props are working as intended. We certainly hope that the moving walls and rolling boulder are operational again, but we also want to temper expectations.
Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland reopens March 17, 2023. As soon as the attraction opens, we will share our updates on what was (and was not) fixed during this refurbishment.
