The enchanting CreativeSoul Princess-inspired Doll Collection is now available on shopDisney and at the Disneyland Resort. Perfectly timed with Black History Month, this collection of 11-inch dolls takes well-known Disney princesses and expands on their design by reimagining the characters as girls of color, wearing fashion that incorporates African fabric prints and jewelry. Let’s take a closer look at these stunning dolls!
The Photo Inspirations for the Dolls
This art was designed and photographed by Regis and Kahran Bethencourt, the founders of CreativeSoul Photography. Everything, from the outfits and fashion accents to the hairstyle to the model’s pose, holds some significance. The outfits and accents celebrate Afrocentric styles. The hairstyle highlights the girls’ naturally textured hair. And the poses show that they are confident and empowered, as a princess should be. The results are simply gorgeous.
This Elsa-inspired photo was not used for a doll (as far as we know), but I would love to see one made in the future.

Cinderella-Inspired Doll ($59.99)
Like Cinderella’s ballgown, this doll’s dress includes puff sleeves and a high waist. The silver-toned jewelry compliment the gold foil details on the dress. Her purse is shaped like Cinderella’s pumpkin coach.
Tiana’s style is expanded upon in this doll’s outfit. The layered, patterned fabric on her skirt resembles a flower, just like Tiana’s princess dress did at the end of The Princess and the Frog. This doll takes the floral motif a step further with a floral appliqué on her waist and the tiny white flowers incorporated into her necklace. Her purse is shaped like a little frog.
Snow White-Inspired Doll ($59.99)
The vibrant color scheme from Snow White’s traditional dress translates perfectly into this doll’s outfit. The large bow atop her head is a lovely take on Snow White’s headband. Her purse is shaped like a bright red apple. But my favorite detail is the small bejeweled satin flowers that decorate the top of her skirt.
Rapunzel-Inspired Doll ($59.99)
This doll’s hairstyle reminds me of the scenes from Tangled when the little girls weave flowers into Rapunzel’s hair at the festival. It expertly captures that moment, all while adding a more personal touch. The sun emblem burned into Rapunzel’s mind from childhood is prominent on the doll’s dress and necklace. Even her purse is partially shaped like a sun.
CreativeSoul Princess Dolls at the Disneyland Resort
The CreativeSoul Collection Princess dolls are also available at select locations at the Disneyland Resort. Here’s a display we saw at Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure. The collection was also spotted at Disneyland on Main Street, USA, at Disneyana. They may be sold in other places as well.
