One of the central aspects of the holidays at Disneyland is the food.  We’ve got all of the sweet treats and savory eats you’ll find across the resort in this Disneyland Holiday Food Guide, including what’s on the lineup for Festival of the Holidays. This mega guide details ALL the seasonal food you’ll find this holiday season at the Disneyland Resort. Here’s what you’ll find…

UPDATED 11/11/2022 at 1:30 PM – Sip & Savor Pass cost and preliminary thoughts about food tasted so far have been added to the Festival of Holidays section.

Festival of Holidays

This is one of our favorite festivals at DCA each year. The festival celebrates a diverse landscape of different cultures through the means of music, entertainment, and food. The food is delicious, and there are a lot of new items, as well as returning favorites. That said, this year is shaping up to be pretty different than in years past.

While we were able to sample a hefty amount during the festival’s soft open on Wednesday and Thursday, our team wasn’t able to find any true stand-out dishes. In fact, most of what we tried was either underwhelming or not very appetizing. We’ve included our thoughts on what we’ve tried. We will continue to add additional thoughts as we eat our way through the Festival of Holidays 2022.

Sip & Savor Pass

For the most bang for your buck, guests should opt for a Sip & Savor Pass. This pass has 8 tabs that can be redeemed for 8 food items or non-alcoholic beverages through the duration of the festival (now through January 8, 2023). The Sip & Savor Pass costs $59 ($54 for Magic Keyholders), which is a modest increase of $3 from 2021. As long as the item costs more than $7.37 (or $6.75 for Magic Keyholders), you’re actually saving money in comparison to buying the item à la carte.

While in years past we would recommend splitting a Sip & Savor Pass between two people to equate out to a full meal, there aren’t very many appetizing options this year. As a result, we’re modifying our recommendation this time around. We would encourage guests to do some research to see what sounds good. And if there are enough items that warrant getting a Sip & Savor Pass, this festival would be good as a between-meals snack instead of a full course.

Festival of Holidays Marketplaces

This year, there are 10 festival marketplaces located throughout DCA— including a brand-new one (and another that is Black Panther-themed but not “officially” considered part of the festival)! Each marketplace offers an array of food (sweet and/or savory) and beverages (with or without alcohol). And without further ado, let’s get to the food!

Flavors of Wakanda (New)

The Flavors of Wakanda booth
  • Maafe: Ground peanut stew with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, black-eyed peas, and spices with naan
  • Peri-Peri Chicken with yellow Jollof rice
  • Dawa (alcoholic beverage): vodka, lemonade, honey, and ginger beer with butterfly pea tea
  • Butterfly Pea Tea Lemonade: lemonade, honey, and ginger beer with butterfly pea tea

Favorite Things

Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
The Favorite Things booth
  • Chicken Tikka Masala with cardamom basmati rice, lemon raita, cilantro, and garlic naan crumble (New)
  • Mrs. Claus’ Hot Cocoa Macaron: Inspired by the Disney+ series “The Santa Clauses,” features a red macaron filled with chocolate hot cocoa filling and ganache finished with a chocolate decoration
  • Churro Toffee Cold Brew Latte Cocktail: Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Blend Coffee, coffee liqueur, demerara, cinnamon sugar, vanilla bean, and almond milk garnished with churro syrup, whipped cream, and chocolate toffee crumbles (New) (also available non-alcoholic which is not new)
    • This cocktail was pretty good; comparable to the churro toffee latte in years past, but with a less pronounced cinnamon flavor. It does require a hefty stirring because the cream topping does not merge smoothly with the liquid beneath it. While it was tasty, it’s hard to warrant paying $16 for it, especially with the cocktail lacking any discernible alcohol presence. In our opinion, you’re better off getting the non-alcoholic version and saving that $10 to put toward a different cocktail.

Making Spirits Bright

The Making Spirits Bright booth
  • Mickey Mouse-shaped Gingerbread Cookie
    • This is a classic gingerbread cookie. It’s dense and chewy, with just the right amount of spice. While it is similar to the gingerbread you can get at Jolly Holiday or at the Grand Californian snack cart, it’s the best found within DCA.

Mickey Mouse-shaped Gingerbread Cookie
  • Santa’s Milk & Cookies Hot Cocoa: Inspired by the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses, whole milk with flavors of cookies & cream and white chocolate topped with flavored whipped cream (New) (Non-alcoholic)
  • Maple-Hazelnut Hot Buttered Rum: Rum, maple, hazelnut, demerara, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove garnished with salted caramel whipped cream, sea salt, and demerara sugar sprinkle
  • Red Wine Flight: Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon, Kunde Merlot, and Alexander Valley Vineyards Syrah (New)
  • White Wine Flight: Zaca Mesa Viognier, Fess Parker Winery Chardonnay, Dr Loosen, Riesling, and Domaine Ste Michelle Brut Sparkling (New)

Grandma’s Recipes

Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
The Grandma’s Recipes booth
  • IMPOSSIBLE Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes with classic gravy and crispy shallots (New)
    • The meatloaf portion of this was actually pretty good. It lacked that weird sweetness frequently found in Impossible dishes, so it was a great substitution for real meat. That said, the potatoes were the dish’s downfall. Very pasty and glue-like. If you get this, eat it while it’s hot!
Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
Impossible Meatloaf
  • Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake: Layers of New York-style cheesecake, pumpkin gooey cake, and graham cracker topped with spiced Chantilly and a chocolate decoration (New)
    • Out of everything that we tried during the soft open, this was the only dish that was completely finished by the MiceChat team. It’s a delectable cheesecake with a smooth pumpkin layer (it’s much too goey to be considered any kind of a cake, but more akin to a purée) and plenty of delicious toppings. This would be a 9/10!
Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake
  • Hummingbird Cocktail: Bourbon, créme de banana Liqueur, pineapple juice, banana purée, butter pecan syrup, cinnamon sugar, demerara, and vanilla bean garnished with a pineapple wedge (New)
    • Truth be told, I like my drinks on the sweet side, and this definitely scratched that itch. This was like a holiday version of a tropical drink. While it likely will be too sweet for many people (as tends to be the case for several of Disney’s batch cocktails), I found it refreshing and vivacious.

  • Blood Orange-Pom Limeade: Pomegranate and lime juices with cookie butter and blood orange syrups garnished with a lime wheel (New)

Merry Mashups

The Merry Mashups booth
  • Turkey Poutine: Layers of roasted turkey, sweet potato bites, cheese curds, and gravy topped with frosted cranberries (New)
    • Our team expected that this dish would be a standout of the season. We were wrong. Out of everything we tried, this was hands-down the worst. Everything about it was off; the sweet potato tots were overly sweet, the cheese had an odd texture, the gravy was watery with an odd flavor, and the cranberries were wholly unnecessary. We would recommend skipping this one.
Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
Turkey Poutine
  • Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese: Esquites-inspired mac & cheese with carnitas, salsa macha, spiced puffed rice, freeze-dried corn, and chopped cilantro
    • It goes without saying that Disney loves their Mac & Cheese. This iteration was pretty good, but it has a lot going on which confuses the palette. Our team was unable to finish it between 3 members. While the flavor itself is nice, there are so many textural elements (soft and cheesy pasta, chewy carnitas, crunchy puffed rice, and crispy corn) that it is a bit offputting after a few bites. That said, you do get your money’s worth in terms of carb-protein balance.

Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese
  • Spicy Apple Cider Margarita: Reposado tequila, apple cider, house-made ghost pepper-cinnamon syrup, raspberry syrup, and lime juice garnished with an apple chip (New)

Holiday Duets

The Holiday Duets booth
  • Southern Mac ‘n Cheese: Cajun-style mac & cheese with andouille sausage and spiced panko crunch (New)
    • When it comes to spicy foods, Disney isn’t playing around anymore. This Mac & Cheese packs a serious punch. While it may be too intense for some, it had a great flavor to it and is likely the most approachable-sounding out of all the Mac & Cheese options at the festival. The downside was that the andouille sausage and cheese sauce felt pretty heavy, and left lots of oil in the container. But calories don’t count at Disneyland, right? Right?!
Disneyland Holiday Food Guide 2022, Season’s Eatings! The Complete Disneyland & Festival of Holidays Food Guide 2022
Southern Mac ‘n Cheese
  • Pork Belly Adobo: Garlic fried rice with braised pork belly, chicharron pieces, and green onions
    • This dish has remained a proven favorite year after year. While we wish that the cut of meat would be changed up (we’ve had one too many pieces of overly fatty pork belly over the years), the meat itself is very savory. And the garlic fried rice is the perfect companion to the pork belly. This dish is always a winner.

Pork Belly Adobo
  • Ceylon Splash: Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Black Tea, passion fruit juice, coconut syrup, and calamansi purée garnished with an edible purple orchid (New)(Non-alcoholic)
  • Huckleberry Sake Sangria: Merlot, sake, huckleberry syrup, orange juice, and cinnamon syrup topped with sparkling water and garnished with an orange wheel (New)

  • IMPOSSIBLE Chorizo Queso Fundido topped with chopped cilantro served with house-made tortilla chips
  • Two Coast Brewing Co. Saint Father Festbier: Authentic Oktoberfest Festbier; a Deep Golden Strong Lager with a robust body, a fine balance of spice, hints of floral notes, and a gentle bitterness (New)
  • North Coast Brewing Red Seal Ale (Nitro): Full-bodied copper-red pale ale with notes of hops and a spicy finish (New)
  • Stone Brewing Imperial Stout: Rich stout with notes of chocolate, coffee, black currants, anise, and roasted malts (New)
  • Golden Road Brewing Christmas Cart Wheat Ale: Wheat ale bursting with bright cherries and spiced cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice (New)
  • Brewery X Happy Holihaze Blood Orange Hazy IPA: Hazy IPA with simcoe, citra, and mosaic hops flavors and aromas of blood orange and citrus (New)
  • Stereo Brewing Love Buzz Coffee Amber Ale: A coffee-forward, light-bodied amber ale with El Salvadorian coffee, whole vanilla beans, and a touch of sweetness with aromas of toffee and hazelnut with a smooth finish (New)
  • Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop IPA: Blend of cascade and centennial hops for aromas and flavors of citrus, pine, and floral notes (New)
  • Alesmith Brewing Nut Brown Ale: Deep brown color with rich, malt-forward flavor with notes of biscuit, mild cocoa, and earthy hops (New)
  • Ficklewood Ciderworks Bramblebark: A creamy and aromatic cider with blackberries and a touch of vanilla aged in Hungarian and French oak barrel (New)
  • Juneshine Hard Kombucha Açaí Berry: Brewed with organic açaí and blueberries for a subtle earthiness (New)
  • Allagash Brewing Curieux Bourbon Barrel-Aged Golden Ale: Notes of vanilla, caramel, oak, and hints of bourbon (New)
  • Bottle Logic Pumpkin Spice Latte Stout: Fresh pastry stout with pumpkin, lactose, spices, and coffee (New)

Winter Sliderland

The Winter Sliderland booth
  • Holiday Ham Slider with cranberry-bacon jam and Gruyère on a salt and pepper brioche bun (New)
    • This was reminiscent of the Thanksgiving Slider from previous festivals. While we enjoyed it, we feel it would have been better with turkey instead of ham. Still, it was pretty tasty.
  • Brisket Slider with smoked onions and horseradish ketchup on a pretzel roll (New)
    • There was a lot going on with this slider. So much so that it seemed to have something of an identity crisis. It didn’t quite feel like a holiday sandwich and it didn’t quite feel like a BBQ sandwich either. The team found it was better once the onions had been removed. Overall, it wasn’t bad, it was just a little unexpected.
  • Cherry-Mango Punch: Cherry syrup, mango, and peach nectars with lemon juice garnished with a frozen peach (New) (Non-alcoholic)
    • This was very peach-forward with a hint of cherry and virtually no mango. Just be aware that this is very on-brand for Disney’s drinks: incredibly sweet. It’s very syrupy, and drinking a whole cup of this by yourself may prove to be a challenge.
  • Tiramisu Yule Log Cocktail: Vodka, hazelnut liqueur, oat milk, tiramisu syrup and chocolate bitters, garnished with Valrhona chocolate powder (New)

Visions of Sugar Plums

The Visions of Sugarplums booth
  • Sweet Potato-stuffed Corn Muffin with red beans, rice, and green onions
    • This was fine. There wasn’t anything spectacular about this dish, but it wasn’t bad. It’s hard to go wrong with beans and rice with a piece of cornbread. This dish could have used a more inventive interpretation, but it’s (relatively) affordable and substantial. I won’t be getting it again this season, but it’s a good backup for a picky eater.

  • Chocolate Bourbon-flavored Tart made with TWIX Cookie Bar Pieces: Layers of caramel and chocolate bourbon-flavored mousse made with TWIX Cookie Bar pieces (New)
    • This is a very boozy-flavored chocolate dessert. While it is one of the more expensive desserts, it was quite rich and could easily be shared.

Pacific Wharf Café (Mobile order available)

  • Holiday Sandwich: Black Forest ham, whole-grain mustard spread, cranberry mayo, and arugula on a stuffing roll served with chips (New)
    • This was a delicious sandwich! I’m not usually crazy about ham, but this was the perfect holiday meal. It’s enough to split between two people. We were expecting something different based on the “stuffing roll,” but the soft bread was delicious nonetheless.
  • Chicken Tortilla Soup with grilled corn, fresh onion, and cilantro topped with crispy tortilla strips and served in a bread bowl (New)
  • Peppermint Bark Bread Pudding: White chocolate, chocolate chips and peppermint with whipped topping and crème anglaise (New) (Sip & Savor eligible)
    • This dessert is actually quite hefty in comparison to other options in the festival. It’s got a nice crunch to the outside edges while staying dense and moist in the middle. The chocolate chips throughout are a nice touch. Peppermint can be overpowering, but this has a nice balance between the cooling mint and sweetness of the chocolate and toppings.

  • Colombian Empanadas: Colombian-style beef empanadas, served with aji verde and cabbage salad tossed with cilantro dressing and escabeche (New) (Sip & Savor eligible)
    • This sizable empanada has a kick! The pastry is flaky and buttery and the beef filling is on the spicier side. This was one of the better items that we’ve tried this year.

  • Mistletoe Mule: A twist on a classic mule with cranberry juice and agave garnished with a sprig of rosemary and a cape cranberry
    • This was a blast of ginger beer with just a hint of cranberry juice. This was the most alcohol-forward cocktail I had at the festival yet, and that’s not something I’m complaining about! This is a returning favorite, so I’m glad to have it again this year.
