Everything is better with a touch of pixie dust! Disneyland’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has finally resumed royal makeovers for guests aged 3 to 12. It has been 888 days since the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices completed their last transformation, and we were among the very first to experience the magic again during a preview (the boutique officially reopens on August 25th). Here’s a look at the returned Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland and all the things you’ll want to know.

Disneyland Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Details
The Boutique requires reservations for makeovers, and there is likely to be far more demand than supply. We strongly recommend that you make reservations well in advance. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance of your visit either from Disneyland’s website or from the Disneyland App. If you’re lucky, you may be able to snag a walk-up reservation, but those are very limited and not likely to be available.

The salon opens with the park and the last makeover reservation is 6:00 PM. However, the shop in which the salon is located will remain open for most of the rest of the park day. So you can still purchase costumes and accessories. Note that the boutique may close during the fireworks shows and reopens approximately 30 minutes after the show.

Once known as Fairy Godmothers in Training and Coachmen, the salon Cast Members are now known as Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Princess Transformation
I had the special honor of accompanying Miss Gabriella on her first salon appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Follow along as she becomes royalty-in-training.

Your first stop will be the Royal Chamber, where you check in and select what package you want to buy for your princess or prince. This chamber is located just across the courtyard from the actual shop. Prices start at $99.95 for princesses and $19.95 for princes and can scale dramatically. The most expensive package (The Princess Signature Dress Collection) starts at $450.00.

As you enter, you are not only greeted by the smiling faces of the Cast Members but also a large selection of dresses and accessories.

All of the favorite prince and princess wardrobes are here. And there are accessories aplenty: royal scepters, shields and swords (shields and swords made of a durable foam), crowns and tiaras, hair extensions, and even slippers.

After making your selections, a backpack is prepared for you with the selected accessories and your Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice escorts your child from the Royal Chamber to the salon.

You should plan on your Princess’s or Prince’s transformation to take between a half hour to an hour, depending on the makeover package that was selected.

At the end of the makeover, there is one last important bit of magic left. Your Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice uses their magic wand to sprinkle pixie dust over the new royalty-in-training. “Bibbidy bobbidi boo, may all your dreams and wishes come true. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”

When all is done, the curtain is opened to reveal the royal mirror where your child is able to see the regal result.

Some packages come with photos in a special staged area by the Royal Theater. There, a PhotoPass photographer will capture the prince or princess in their new outfits while sitting in a royal carriage.

Both printed photos and digital downloads are part of the photo packages.

After the royal treatment was complete, we set out into the parks and take some photos! Of course, the top of our list was the castle.

We didn’t know if Gabriella would enjoy the whole process or not. Verdict? She loved it. Now comes the harder task of explaining that this won’t happen on every trip to Disneyland.
