Halloween is quickly approaching the Walt Disney World Resort. With the return of the full-scale Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party (with special party-exclusive treats) and other fall-time delights, Halloween is shaping up to be a devilish delight. Here’s a look at Walt Disney World’s Halloween 2022 details…
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Details
Get ready, witches! The popular Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns to Magic Kingdom for 37 nights, starting on August 12 and running through October 31. This is the first time that the full-sized party has returned since the resort reopened in 2020. Although there was a pared-down Halloween party last year (that was still full-price!), we’re very much looking forward to seeing the real party once again.
Tickets are available now for all dates except for the sold-out night of Halloween; the cost to attend starts at $109 and varies by date. The party starts at 7pm and goes through midnight (ticketholders can arrive as early as 4pm and mix in with day guests). Here’s a look at this year’s Halloween party!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Entertainment
During the party, there’s a whole array of entertainment to discover. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is bringing out all the heavy hitters again this year, so if you’re attending the party, be sure to make a list so you don’t miss the shows that look good to you:
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular!
Performing on the Cinderella Castle stage, the Hocus Pocus Villain “Spelltacular!” brings out the Sanderson sisters to bewitch and bedazzle the partygoers at Magic Kingdom. This is a very popular show, so be sure to get to the stage area early.
Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
Join Jack Skellington and other Disney characters in an incredible display of fireworks. This is a party-exclusive show, and it’s always a dazzling spectacle. You can see the fireworks from nearly anywhere in the park, but there’s something special about viewing it from Main Street (in our opinion, at least!).
Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
This parade is one of the highlights of the party. Between the spirited performers and an earworm of a song, Boo-to-You is a lot of fun to watch.
Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
Standing on the rooftops of Frontierland, be sure to keep an eye out for the Cadaver Dans. They’ll entertain guests with frightful songs and dead-pan humor. The Dans are always a treat.
Disney Junior Jam
Over at Storybook Circus, partygoers will find characters from Disney Junior shows. If you have little ones in your party group, this will likely be a hit for them.
Trick-or-Treat
Although the Halloween entertainment is an obvious upside of the party, it wouldn’t be a true Halloween event without some candy. All across the park, guests can collect treats presented by Mars Wrigley to enjoy during the party (and after). There are also allergy-friendly options as well (ask about the special station where guests with allergies can receive a bag of allergy-friendly treats).
Wearing a Costume to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Part of the fun of the Halloween party is the opportunity to dress up in a costume. Just know that it’s Florida and event nights start in mid-August, so expect it to still be quite warm at night! Additionally, Disney has some policies regarding costumes you should be aware of. Most notably, costumes should be family-friendly, capes should be shorter than waist length, masks are mostly forbidden for guests older than 14, and Disney doesn’t want other guests to think you are a real character… so don’t pose for photos with strangers. (Full Disney Costume Policy)
Magic Kingdom Halloween Party Attractions
During the party, most of Magic Kingdom’s attractions will be available to ride… and some will even have a special Halloween twist. If attractions are important to you, then this limited-capacity party is the perfect opportunity to ride whatever you’d like with minimal waits. Here are the attractions with a Halloween surprise attached:
Mad Tea Party – During the party, this attraction has special lighting that gives it an eerie flair.
Space Mountain – If you think the regular version of Space Mountain is intense, how about doing it in complete darkness? That’s what you can expect during the parties, plus there’s a special soundtrack that’s exclusive to this version of the classic attraction.
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor – If you’re looking for something lighthearted, the Laugh Floor is the perfect place to be. For Halloween, the show is spruced up a little to make it seasonal. You’ll be chuckling the whole time.
Not So Scary Halloween Party-Exclusive Food
It wouldn’t be a Disney Parks special event without some exclusive food. There are some items that will be available during normal park hours too, so even if you’re not going to one of the party nights, you can still enjoy something frightful. Otherwise, you can find the Glow Mickey Mummy popcorn bucket and the Donald Candy Corn Sipper (also coming in early October) during regular park hours.
Not So Scary Halloween Party Dining Opportunities
If you want a VIP experience while watching the Not-So-Spooky fireworks, you can book a Dessert Party viewing at either Tomorrowland Terrace or from the Plaza Garden. This experience will begin booking online starting August 9. If you’re interested in partaking in this dessert extravaganza (it is a boo-fet after all!), be sure to book early because this sells out quickly.
New to Not-So-Scary in 2022
There’s still a bit more that’s coming to the Halloween parties this year. As part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration, there are some new additions that are making their way to Mickey’s Halloween party. These include
- New 3D photo backdrops that you can step inside, putting you directly into the setting
- A reusable treat bag that you can fill with candy and take home featuring a design inspired by Halloween and the 50th Anniversary celebration
- A commemorative print themed to Halloween and the 50th Anniversary celebration
Other Walt Disney World Halloween Activities
Although Halloween largely takes place at Magic Kingdom (and even then is mostly locked behind the pay-wall of the parties), there are still a few other ways to enjoy Halloween at Walt Disney World.
Fall Decorations on Main Street
You don’t need a ticket to the Halloween party in order to get into the spirit. You can enjoy the fall time decorations on Main Street, even without a ticket to the Halloween party (as long as you have admission to Magic Kingdom).
One thing we’re not sure will be returning are the themed scarecrows in the Main Street gardens. Because that space is currently being used as part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary golden character statues, we don’t know if the scarecrows of the Halloween season will be returning or will simply be repositioned.
Disney Springs
In previous years, there is also usually a little bit of a Halloween celebration at Disney Springs. Nothing has been announced just yet, but we imagine that after the current Flavors of Florida wraps up, something Halloween-inspired will be headed to the shopping and dining district of the resort.
