Encanto fans started calling for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 60th animated movie to be represented in Disney theme parks soon after it debuted on Disney+ in November 2021. Last month, Encanto was named best animated feature at the Academy Awards (plus, a new sing-along version debuted on Disney+), and now the calls for more Encanto in the park have been answered with three ways to experience the magical Madrigal family at Disneyland.

We Don’t Talk About… “it’s a small world”

During the day, Mirabel will continue to meet guests at Frontierland’s Zocalo Park in a colorful photo location that pays homage to the people and culture of her family’s home in Colombia.

For a limited time beginning April 11th, the “it’s a small world” façade will become enchanted several times each evening, thanks to a new projection and lighting montage inspired by lyrics from the movie’s hit song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

“This musical delight comes to life through projection and lighting effects and an artistic style inspired by the lyrics, with select moments that feature characters from the film,” said Disney Live Entertainment Senior Communications Manager Shawn Slater. “Like the Madrigal family’s Casita, tiles across the ‘it’s a small world’ façade flip, turn, and rearrange themselves as one scene transitions to the next, culminating in a celebratory chorus and a nod to Bruno’s mysterious prophecy about Mirabel.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…”

When the fan-favorite “Main Street Electrical Parade” makes its limited-time return to Main Street U.S.A on April 22nd, the beloved parade will also be celebrating its milestone  50th anniversary with a new grand finale float.

Celebrating the theme of togetherness, the 118-foot-long float will feature seven two-sided segments with colorful scenes from more than a dozen classic and modern Disney and Pixar stories – including Encanto. Inspired by both the original design of classic “Main Street Electrical Parade” floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair’s iconic style in “it’s a small world,” the stories will feature characters as animated dolls accompanied by the parade’s trademark electro-synthe-magnetic music.
