Disneyland’s Magic Key Holder Appreciation Month is this February and we’ve got the updated details on what Disney has planned. Key Holders can expect exclusive menu items, themed merchandise, PhotoPass Magic Shots, giveaways, and there are even activities for those who can’t make it to the Parks. Let’s take a look at Magic Key Holder Appreciation Month’s perks and activities…
PhotoPass Magic Shots
One of the neat little things Key Holders will be able to do in February is take special PhotoPass Magic Shots with complimentary digital downloads. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will offer a Magic Shot exclusive to Magic Key Holders: Peter Pan and Steamboat Willie, respectively. It should be mentioned that both of these styles have been used before for other promotions.
Key Holder Freebies
If your future’s so bright you’ve got to wear shades… you’re in luck, Magic Key-branded sunglasses will be distributed in Disney California Adventure (in the corridor near Cars Land, across from Blue Sky Cellar).
Key Holders will also be able to collect complimentary art prints that have been created especially for them. There are two designs planned to be distributed inside the Parks with an additional one created for visitors to Downtown Disney. The first of the prints for inside the Parks features the many “mountains” of the Disneyland Resort and will be available from February 1 through 15. Then from February 16 through 28, it will be replaced with one that highlights the Disneyland Resort’s famous modes of transportation.
And in Downtown Disney, an Avengers Campus blueprint piece, as well as a special attractions poster, will be distributed at World of Disney and Wonderground Gallery.
Not officially part of Magic Key Celebration month is a free Lunar New Year button in DCA. But we’re including it because it’s something you should know about that takes place during the month.
Magic Key Holder-Exclusive Food and Merchandise
During Magic Key Holder Celebration Month, Key Holders can order several menu items created just for them. Over at Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill will be the Magic Key Slush.
All you Instagrammy types will be interested in the Magic Shake, which will be sold at Black Tap in Downtown Disney. This blueberry pie classic shake is topped with whipped cream, a cherry, and colorful sprinkles.
And for the over-21 crowd, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen (also located in Downtown Disney) will offer the Ima’gin’, an alcoholic cocktail comprised of Empress Gin, mint-flavored syrup, fresh lime juice, and sparkling wine and topped with color-changing glitter dust. Served with a rock candy stirrer for good measure.
Wetzel’s Pretzels in Downtown Disney will gift Key Holders a special limited edition pin with any purchase.
Magic Key Holders can spend their money on themed merchandise as well. Inside the Parks, branded smartphone covers will be available for purchase as will a themed drink tumbler.
Digital Content
For Magic Key Holders who can’t make a trip over to the Disneyland Resort in February, Disney has a few digital goodies planned to help include them in the celebration. Disney Imagineers will host weekly behind-the-scenes videos for beloved Disneyland Resort attractions on the Disneyland Magic Key page on Facebook and Instagram’s IG Live. Instagram will also have a special Magic Key filter. Key Holders can also download a themed phone wallpaper. There is also mention of at-home trivia but we don’t have additional information about this offering just yet.
Magic Key News
In other Magic Key news, the exclusive Key Holder-only member lounge at Disney California Adventure is getting a fancy update. The indoor section of the lounge is being enhanced with comfy new furniture, a new color scheme and lighting, and upscale artwork. The outdoor portion of the Magic Key Holder Lounge remains open while the work is being completed on the inside.
The indoor section, which was originally the Mondavi Winery’s Vineyard Room when the park first opened, currently looks like this:
