We have exciting news for guests visiting Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in 2023: the dates for the popular Lunar New Year and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival events have been revealed! Lunar New Year, which incorporates Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese traditions, will take place from January 20 through February 15, 2023. And from March 3 through April 25, 2023, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will offer all sorts of gastronomic delights. Here’s what to expect from each of these events:

Lunar New Year – January 20 through February 15, 2023

This cultural celebration includes family activities, live performances, themed merchandise, and a wide variety of special food. For the 2023 Lunar New Year Celebration, Disney is celebrating both the Chinese (Year of the Rabbit) and Vietnamese (Year of the Cat) zodiac calendars. While the festivities will be centered around the Year of the Rabbit, it’s neat that Disney is acknowledging the diversity within Asian cultures.

As part of the celebration, the fan-favorite “Mulan’s New Year Processional” will make a return, which is one of our favorite cavalcades of the year.

Another big highlight is the many delectable dishes created just for Lunar New Year. This year, there are two new marketplaces added to the festival lineup! The new booths are “Bamboo Blessings” and “Wrapped with Love.” Guests will have the option to purchase a Sip and Savor Pass for the offerings in the Lunar New Year Marketplace. We’ve been wanting to see this festival expanded, and it’s finally happening. There are a total of six marketplaces this year:

  • Bamboo Blessings – New!
  • Wrapped with Love – New!
  • Lucky 8 Lantern
  • Prosperity Bao & Buns
  • Red Dragon Spice Traders
  • Longevity Noodle Co.

Beyond the marketplaces around the park, some additional park dining locations will also offer themed food and drinks. A Sip and Savor Pass will be available for the festival as well.

Fans of “Raya and the Last Dragon” will get the chance to see Raya in her meet and greet location in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail starting January 20. Her area of the trail is immaculately decorated and was incredibly popular in 2022. Her limited engagement started in January and she stayed into July! We don’t know if she’ll be sticking around that long in 2023, but we’re glad we get to see her again.

We hope to see plenty of Disney’s famous rabbits and cats meeting with guests during the festival.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival – March 3 through April 25, 2023

As you would expect, this festival focuses on all things food. Eat food. Watch people make food. Buy food-themed merchandise. And once again, guests can choose to purchase a Sip & Savor Pass to redeem at the marketplace booths. Expect to see free live demonstrations from renowned chefs on Saturdays and Sundays during the event. Additional seminars and experiences, such as a Carthay Circle Winemaker Reception or a Trader Sam’s Mixology Seminar, can be booked for an additional fee. Other things to look forward to at the Food & Wine Festival include live performances, family activities, and a visit from Chef Goofy.

The Sip & Savor Pass (which includes 8 tabs to be used for select food and nonalcoholic beverages throughout the Festival) returns for 2023, but the price has not been disclosed yet. In 2022, the pass was $57 and will likely have a price increase in 2023. The good news is, Magic Keyholders will get a discount on the pass in addition to a special lanyard.
