Disney+ is unwrapping new titles for the holiday season. So, snuggle up with a soft blanket and get ready for holiday cheer.
The animated Colombian family film “Encanto” will be available at no additional cost on the streamer starting Dec. 24. The film debuted exclusively in theaters in the top spot during the Thanksgiving Day weekend with a $40.3 million bow. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live in a magical house hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a place called an Encanto.
For fans of the Star Wars universe, the new series “Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett” blasts its way through the galaxy Dec. 29. Teased in an end-credit sequence following the season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” Boba Fett and Fennec Shand return to the desert world of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
“TRON: Legacy,” the sequel to the 1982 science fiction action-adventure film “TRON,” will make its way back to the streamer Dec. 10. The film was originally available on Disney+, but was then removed due to preexisting contracts with HBO, Hulu, Starz and Netflix, which were made prior to Disney deciding to launch Disney+.
The animated film “Ron’s Gone Wrong” will be the first film available on both HBO Max and Disney Plus, scheduled to premiere on both services Dec. 15. “Ron’s Gone Wrong” is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his “Best Friend out of the Box.” The film features the voice talents of Jack Dylan Grazer and Zach Galifianakis.
