We all know Walt Disney World is celebrating its 50th anniversary, but did you know Southwest Airlines is also turning 50 this year? It’s true! And the two companies have come together to unveil a shiny, new surprise…
Southwest has pixie-dusted one of their 737-700 airplanes! The entire vessel -inside and out- is sprinkled with EARidescent characters and park emblems.
Even Mickey and Minnie were there for the unveiling! (And in their 50th ensembles!)
Inside, the overhead compartments and window panels received a magical touch as well.
Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary festivities officially kick off this Friday, October 1st, and Southwest hopes to be the carrier to take you to the Most Magical Celebration on Earth.
The 50th-anniversary-themed plane is now part of a general-use pool, meaning it could show up at any airport that Southwest travels to. Who knows, you may spot this one on your next trip!
Southwest is also hosting 50 Days of Giveaways to commemorate the occasion. Every day from September 28th through November 16th, one potential winner and three of their guests have the chance to win a trip to Walt Disney World Resort on Southwest.
