Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary is upon us, and one of the best parts of such a milestone event? The special food offerings!
Across all four theme parks, the resorts, as well as Disney Springs, Disney chefs and mixologists have created over 150 food and drink items for guests to sip and nibble on to help celebrate. From Walt Disney’s personal recipes and Walt Disney World Resort attractions (past and present), to beloved Disney Characters, and some nostalgic dishes from 1971 were the inspiration for these tasty treats concocted.
Along with the list of eats, we updated the article to include information on new collectible buckets and sippers.
But first, some good news on sweet treats…
Main Street Confectionary Reopens
The Main Street Confectionary at the Magic Kingdom surprise opened on September 28th after a long refurbishment. The shop has been completely updated with a new theme and sponsorship with M&M/Mars.

As you enter, you’re greeted by “Meet the Sweets” signage, introducing guests to the Main Street characters that bring the sweet treats to life.

50th anniversary themed treats are available for purchase as well.

A large new bank of registers flank the back of the store. This is where you pick up your treats.

Almost all of the baked goods have some Mars product in them: M&Ms, Skittles, Milky Way, Twix, etc. The cookies look absolutely scrumptious!

Or if cupcakes are more your style (and we hear that several variety of 50th Anniversary cupcakes are on the way)…

This candy apple looks almost too cute to eat… almost.

A wall of M&Ms and other goodies, waiting to be purchased in bulk.

The redesigned shop feels much more open and airy.

In the back, you’ll find the confection Kitchen window and the candy popcorn station, where guests can choose a type of popcorn, then add a topping and even some candy if desired!

Lots of options to choose from to customize your popcorn!

Dusty takes us into the new shop for a look around in this live video he recorded on YouTube on opening day:
Collectible Souvenir Buckets and Sippers
Starting October 1, guests will find new themed popcorn buckets and sippers to collect. In regards to the popcorn buckets, there is one shaped like Mickey Mouse along with a Mickey Balloon design which is available in several different colors plus standard buckets with art that varies by Park.

As for sippers, there is Minnie design to match the Mickey popcorn bucket, a traditional tumbler-style cup with art for each Park, and a sipper with a straw sold exclusively at the water parks.
