Character dining at the Disneyland Resort is a special experience that is a hallmark for many family vacations. Having a meal while also seeing some of your favorite Disney pals (without having to wait in line) is definitely a memorable moment. However, character dining has been on hiatus since the parks reopened back in April. Well, that’s changing in just a few days. Here’s the latest news about Character Dining at the Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland Character Dining Returns
Starting July 22, Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast at Storytellers Café will return at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. While the restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, characters will only be in attendance for breakfast and brunch. Reservations for Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast open on July 20!
Also located at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure at Napa Rose, which reopens on August 26 and begins booking on August 11. Guests can expect to mingle with various Disney Princesses and take part in themed activities during their three-course dining experience.
Another character dining location returning will be at Disneyland’s Plaza Inn with the Minnie & Friends Breakfast. This dining experience is set to return on August 12 with bookings opening August 11.
And, because we know many of you think “Goofy’s Kitchen” when you think of Character Dining, we are happy to report that the dining venue will reopen for breakfast and dinner buffets on August 18 with bookings opening on August 11. HOWEVER, Goofy and his pals won’t be visiting guests at the reopening and will instead join in on the fun at a later date.
More Disney Restaurant Reopenings
The resort is adding more restaurants to its list of operating facilities in the coming weeks. Disneyland foodies rejoice because there are some real winners returning in just a few short days.
Carthay Circle Restaurant
Although the downstairs lounge of Carthay Circle has been operating for alfresco dining since way back when Buena Vista Street was operating as a Downtown Disney extension, the upstairs dining room has remained closed. Though, this fine-dining location is set to official reopen in just a few days on July 22 with reservations opening on July 20. This restaurant is always a popular choice, so we wish you good luck with making a reservation!
The Golden Horseshoe
Over at Disneyland, The Golden Horseshoe is set to return on July 29. Although this is usually home to some form of entertainment, the location will only be operating for food and beverage at this time. We hope that as more entertainment gets added back into the resort that The Golden Horseshoe can return to having a show of its own in the near future.
Carnation Café
The home of Walt’s favorite chili and fried pickles will reopen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on September 16. Some new dishes will also join the menu, like the Short Rib with Mac and Cheese as well as the Parmesan-crusted Patty Melt.
