If the sweet, sweet air conditioning wasn’t enough of an excuse to watch Mickey’s Philharmagic show, the soon-to-be-added scene from Disney and Pixar’s Coco certainly will be. The beloved film will lend the song “Un Poco Loco” to the attraction. This update will be added to the attraction in Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Paris on July 17. The Magic Kingdom version of the attraction won’t see this change until later in the year for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. Let’s take a look at what Disney has planned!

Throughout the 3D show, Donald Duck travels through different worlds from Disney movies in an attempt to retrieve the Sorcerer’s hat. This new scene will include the Land of the Dead. In this concept art, we can see that Donald joins in the musical talent competition and even hitches a ride on Pepita, Mama Imelda’s alebrije, with Dante (in alebrije form) wearing the Sorcerer’s hat. This scene certainly looks colorful and I bet it looks even more vibrant with the show’s 3D effects.

The Coco segment will be the very first-time characters from Disney and Pixar will share a screen! And to add to the authenticity of the scene, Germaine Franco, one of Coco’s original composers, wrote its score.
