Disney announced today that they are bringing back the Walt Disney World College Program. The program’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as attendance is forecast to be very high this summer, and with a very sparse qualified labor pool, the College Program is necessary for the operation of Walt Disney World. Disney has already asked all previously furloughed and separated cast members to return to work, and is now struggling to fill schedules.

Even with all of the callbacks of furloughed and laid off workers, it seems that not enough people took Disney up on their starting pay rate of $14 an hour.

Disney Announces the Return of the Disney College Program

Disney will offer college program roles to any applicants that were accepted but didn’t get to experience the college program due to the initial closure of Walt Disney World, as well as those who’s programs were cut short. New applicants are welcome to apply, and Disney has relaxed some guidelines on being a recent college graduate. So, if you wish you could go back to the college program, now is the time to re-apply.

In addition, all college program CMs will have the option of living at Flamingo Crossings, Disney’s new housing complex specifically built for the college program. These apartments are really nice, especially compared to the out of date and overcrowded older housing at Vista Way.
