As Disney Cruise Line releases summer 2022 sailings, the CDC has announced a continuation of the Conditional No Sail Order. But some in the cruise industry are finding ways to skirt the rules.

Not All Smooth Sailing

While we look forward to the summer 2022 sailing season, the current summer, and most of the rest of 2021 are in jeopardy. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) turned down the attempts by the cruise industry and the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) to begin operating in US ports as soon as July.

CLIA has been working with the CDC to set the standard for the return to sailing. CLIA is calling to lift the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order.

Cruise Lines are responding to the order by sailing out of ports outside the CDC jurisdiction. Both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines, parent company Royal Caribbean International, have announced sailing out of the Caribbean and the Bahamas as early as June 2021.

What do you think? Are you ready to sail again? How soon is too soon and when will you be ready?
