While all four of Walt Disney World’s theme parks reopened in July, both of the water parks have remained shuttered since March.
Yesterday, Disney announced that Blizzard Beach, themed to a melting Florida ski resort, is finally reopening on March 7th, 2021.

According to Disney Parks Blog, “cast members will begin returning soon to prepare Disney’s Blizzard Beach for its scheduled reopening on March 7, 2021. First opened to the public on April 1, 1995, this spring will kick off Blizzard Beach’s 25th season.”
Crush ‘N’ Gusher fans will have to wait a little longer, as Typhoon Lagoon remains closed with no reopening date.
Upon reopening, Blizzard Beach will most likely have a set limited capacity, while requiring park reservations, temperature checks and social distancing. As for facial coverings, we can look to Disney’s current resort pool policies; guests are required to wear their mask while walking around the pool area, but are not required while swimming.

However, Blizzard Beach is much bigger than a resort pool area, and possesses queues for their water-soaked attractions, which will require guests to keep their distance from other parties (especially when they’re not wearing a mask). Additional reopening details are not yet known. We’ll keep you posted as we find out more, stay tuned!
