At long last, park hopping returns to Walt Disney World! Beginning January 1, 2021, guests will have the option to park hop if they wish… with some modifications. How will it work? Here are all the details. . . .
Guests will still be required to make an advance reservation for the first park they wish to visit on a given day. The park you make a reservation for must be the first park you visit for the day. You will NOT need to make another reservation for the parks you’d like to hop to. But there are some other rules . . .
Park hopping hours will begin at 2:00 pm each day and end at each park’s scheduled closing time. Guests are encouraged to check park hours and the My Disney Experience app for the most up to date park hopping hours, as Disney states they could start earlier, depending on the day and the park.

There are a couple of things that you should be aware of:
- Only Guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Guests visiting from another theme park will not be able to request to join the virtual queue.
- For Annual Passholders and Cast Members, during this time, blockout dates will continue to apply. In order to enter any park, Guests must have a ticket or pass valid for admission to that park on that same day.
- Park-to-park bus transportation will be available each day shortly prior to the start of Park Hopper hours. Cast Members will verify Guests have a ticket or pass with Park Hopper benefits before they board.
Keep in mind that reservation requirements are subject to change and Disney the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations. Additionally, Disney may make further adjustments to how hopping will work after it goes into effect on Jan 1. But we’re glad to see progress toward a more natural resort visit. We’ve missed being able to hop over to EPCOT for dinner after a day at the Studios or Animal Kingdom.
