Give Kids The World “Night of a Million Lights” opened this past weekend. With over 3 million lights and more than 40 villas decorated throughout the village, there is a lot to see!
Give Kids the World is a nonprofit which works with organizations all over the world to grant wishes to critically ill children. As you might imagine, 2020 has been a very difficult year for the origination. However, since they can’t operate for their normal clientele at the moment, they’ve put on a holiday event offering the public the rare opportunity to enjoy the resort.
Put on those walking shoes, we are about to explore this dazzling 89-acre village.
Decorated Villas
The villas where the children normally stay are adorned with lights, decorations, and even some cute photo ops. Each house is sponsored by various companies, some subtle some not. Can you guess the sponsors of these villas?
Some villas are easy to tell the sponsors.
Other sponsors were more subtle, incorporated into the design, or not mentioned at all.
There are lots of opportunities to get into the photos yourself as well.
Village Center
The center of the village offers many things to do and see. From rides to Santa this is not an area to be missed.
Rides and Attractions
My son, Johnny, got to enjoy Kelly’s Sunny Swings and the Enchanted Carousel. All the rides at Give Kids the World Village are completely handicap accessible with wheelchair access.
Amberville is home to an interactive model train village. There are plenty of buttons for little ones, and adults alike, to push and find the activity.
The mini-golf has a cute little walk-through for some additional holiday cheer.
Santa
Of course the evening wouldn’t be complete if you couldn’t visit the one and only Santa! We were lucky enough that there wasn’t a wait and Johnny was able to have a great appropriately distanced conversation and photo.
Wish Tree and castle
The wish tree is all purple, sparkly and bright. Press the red button to make it twinkle.
And don’t forget to visit the castle, where you can find stars with the names of kids who have had their wishes come true at Give Kids The World Village. It’s truly a humbling experience.
Event Details
Night of A Million Lights takes place nightly from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm through January 3, 2021. Tickets are needed for entry and are date and time-specific. It is requested to limit your visit to two hours, we weren’t able to see everything so plan accordingly!

Johnny loved seeing all the lights, as did I. It was magical to say the least. I would love to say this is a new yearly tradition for our family. But this is a once in a lifetime event as the Give Kids The World Village is only hosting the event while they are closed due to the pandemic.
Our night ended with us getting a little wet. But even the rain added to the beauty of the lights.
