Disney has released the first trailer and artwork for The Mandalorian‘s much-anticipated second season, which drops Friday, October 30, on Disney+. We know you are looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds and what’s the deal with the Child.
In the trailer, a voice cryptically instructs the Mandalorian to reunite the creature with its own kind, an order of sorcerers called Jedi, setting up the next act for the groundbreaking series.
The trailer was also shared on Disney+’s Instagram account with the caption that sets the tone for the forthcoming season, “Wherever I go, he goes.”

Back in March, production for both film and television were shut down globally due to concerns of the pandemic. However, principal photography for “The Mandalorian” was completed before the shutdown began, which allowed the show’s producers to continue post-production and deliver episodes to the streaming service.
Earlier this summer, the series garnered 15 Emmy nominations which include best drama series, production design, visual effects, cinematography, and editing. Taika Waititi also received a nomination for outstanding character voiceover as IG-11, and Giancarlo Esposito for outstanding guest actor as Moff Gideon. The winners will be announced Sept. 20 on ABC.

Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, with Karen Gilchrist serving as co-executive producer.
