Bonjour! Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak has returned for another year of fun at the Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Remy, the famous mouse of Auguste Gusteau’s restaurant, from the movie Ratatouille, is securing ingredients for his latest dish. Find Remy in each country throughout the World Showcase and receive a surprise! Here’s an overview of Hide & Squeak this year.

The Map

To start the Hide & Squeak, purchase a map from one of several locations throughout Epcot. The map has a place for you to place stickers (provided on the back of the map; it’s an honor system, folks!) as you find Remy in each location., Cooking Up Extra EPCOT Fun with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak

The stickers give you an idea of the ingredients Remy is collecting.

Finding Remy

As you walk around Epcot, you’ve got to keep an eye out for Remy. Finding the little chef is a fun activity for the entire family. While my son Johnny loves to look for Remy, he often has a hard time locating him. Here are some helpful hints that I have found to help him locate Remy (mostly) on his own.

Frequently the adults will find Remy first, and then suggest Johnny look in the correct area so that he can find it himself.

Let’s look for Remy by the posters!

Remy is usually hiding up high, which makes it more difficult for little ones to locate him immediately. But that could just be my personal experience talking… Johnny has a tendency to continue to look lower until pointed in the right direction.

Remember to look up high!

Remy likes to hide just out of sight, so he may be hiding behind something.

Remy is really hidden here, which can make finding him with little ones a bit challenging. Try looking from various angles!

Although Remy is not always hiding behind objects or nearly out-of-sight, that doesn’t mean he is easy to find.

Lastly, for Johnny’s height and line of sight, Remy is not always visible to him. We find ourselves picking him up or finding a place where he can be taller.

Prize Redemption

When Epcot first opened the scavenger hunt was available with the redemption prize being the cups from the Flower and Garden Festival’s hunt called Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration 2020. As the parks closed before we were able to play this game, I was happy to be able to get the cup I had wanted. They feature Mickey, Minnie, Donald with Spike and Orange Bird.

Plastic cups from the Flower and Garden Festival bee hunt, some are still available.

Now I am happy to see the redemption prize is what was meant for Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Water bottles that feature Figment, Minnie, Remy and Mickey.

The Food and Wine Festival themed water bottles are now available.

You can complete the Hide & Squeak in one visit or throughout the festival dates. While you can wait until your map is complete to redeem your prize, we always secure our prize at the time we are purchasing the map. This ensures that we get the prize we want, as the selection is limited.

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak runs the length of the Food and Wine Festival. Annual Pass discounts are valid on the maps, which makes for a pretty nice priced collectible pin.
