If you can’t make it to Galaxy’s Edge in the Disney Parks, The Sims is offering the next best thing: a virtual version. With their upcoming Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack for The Sims 4, players (and their characters) get to see Star Wars land like never before. Before we dive into what the Game Pack entails, let’s take a look at the trailer:
Welcome to Batuu
All the places you love in the land are available to visit digitally. You can peruse vendors in Black Spire Outpost, rock out to DJ R-3X’s tunes, marvel at Dok Ondar’s goods, take a look at the Millennium Falcon, and yes, there are Ronto Wraps. From what we can see in the trailer and screenshots, Galaxy’s Edge has been lovingly recreated.
And just like if you were visiting the real-life land, you (or your Sim, in this case) can be drawn into the battle between the Rebellion and the First Order. Gamers can make the choice of aiding either side or go rogue and operate as a smuggler.
After choosing your alignment, your Sim can take on missions that will raise their rank amongst the locals and earn them rewards. Along the way, you may encounter familiar faces from the land like Vi Moradi, Hondo Ohnaka, Rey, or Kylo Ren. Sounds similar to the immersive experience available at the Parks, doesn’t it?
The Spoils of War
Your Sim can even make some personalized souvenirs of their galactic journey. Visit Savi’s Workshop or the Droid Depot and you’ll make your very own lightsaber or droid. But those goodies aren’t just for Batuu! These items, along with items found at Dok Ondar’s (great for decorating), can be brought back to your Sims’ home.
The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack ($19.99) will be available on September 8 at midnight in your region for the PC and Mac and 10am Pacific for Steam, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
