Disney is putting that old abandoned ESPN Zone complex to work with an upcoming shopping event. Running from August 31 to September 2, this event will be reservation-only— no walk-ups allowed! We’ll take a look at the details of the event as well as the goods that have been revealed.

Editor’s note: While writing this article, time slots for the shopping event have sold out. As with so many of Disney’s events, if you’re not first to get the news you often miss out. Although, it’s possible that Disney may add additional time slots or even days to this event. We’ll update this article with any new information.

What to Expect

First things first, you will need to book your time slot. It should be noted it is one guest per reservation. A credit card is needed for booking because, if you cancel within a day of the event or are a no-show, you will be charged a fee of $10. This is a similar system to Disney’s dining reservations to ensure that people will follow through with their reservation.

Keep in mind that you need to show up at the desired time slot but not before (otherwise, you will be asked to wait). To check-in, you need to present a photo ID, the credit card used for booking, and, of course, the reservation confirmation.

The Goods

The event page showcases their “Featured Products,” all of which are pins. Whether there will be other kinds of merchandise at the event isn’t specified but it does say there are more items than just the 13 pins shown. Guests are allowed to purchase a maximum of 2 pieces of each style of item, provided they are in stock. Annual Passholder discounts will be honored, thankfully.

All of the pins shown are themed to the 65th Anniversary of Disneyland. Here are a few:

This event seems fairly elaborate for what appears to be a simple pin release. We aren’t sure how this will impact parking and Downtown Disney access which can quickly fill up and become unavailable.
