It’s official, Disneyland Paris has just announced its reopening for July 15, 2020. Our Paris reporter, Max from DLPwelcome, returns with the exciting news and what to expect on park reopening. Disneyland Paris has done an excellent job of describing the experience and fans of the other Disney Parks can get a better idea of what to expect from their own parks.

Disneyland Paris July 15th Reopening
The phased reopening of Disneyland Paris, including Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and Disney Village (Downtown Disney District) will begin July 15, 2020. This reopening is in line with standards recommended by public authorities. As with theme parks everywhere, Disneyland Paris will open with limited capacity, enhanced hygiene and safety measures, and regulated attendance via a new online booking system.

Be sure to book everything in advance or you are unlikely to gain access to the parks. Other information to know before you go:
Resort Hotel Reopening Plan
The hotels are implementing safety precautions that you may be familiar with from other recent reopenings:

But not all the hotels will be open when the parks return. Here’s when each of the hotels is scheduled to open to guests:
- Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne: July 20th
- Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe: August 3rd
- Disneyland Hotel: September 7th
- Disney’s Sequoia Lodge & Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch: after summer (no date has been announced yet).
Disneyland Paris Entertainment
Social distancing and increased hygiene measures will be in full effect. As a result, when the parks reopen, most parades and shows will NOT be available. Some shows, such as the “Disney Stars on Parade” and the nightly “Disney Illuminations” castle spectacular will be back at a later date. Shows such as “The Lion King” “The Rhythm of the Jungle” are expected to return later this summer.
Character Meet and Greet Changes
Traditional encounters with Disney characters will be temporarily suspended. HOWEVER, you WILL still see characters in the parks in new and entertaining ways. Guests will be able to take a selfie with characters who are located at a safe social distance.

Temporary Suspensions
- Single Rider and FASTPASS will not be in use on reopening
- Kids Playgrounds will remain closed for now
- Princess makeovers will not be available

Health & Safety Requirements
As with Disney attractions elsewhere, Cast Members and visitors will be required to wear a face covering throughout the entire Resort, except when eating. Hand sanitation, physical distancing, and limited attendance are also key to public safety.

Theme Park Tickets & Park Reservations
Disneyland Paris will significantly limit park attendance on reopening. As a result, a new online booking system will be launched in early July.
To guarantee theme park admission, visitors with valid admission tickets (including annual passes) will need to schedule their visits via the new online booking system.

There is an exception. Visitors who already have a dated ticket are already counted in the daily attendance and will not need to register via the new system since they area essentially already booked for the day. Similarly, visitors with a scheduled vacation package including tickets will also be admitted for the duration of their stay and do not need to use the new online booking system.
Ticket and package sales are currently available on the official Disneyland Paris website, with a limited number of tickets per day during the initial reopening. On-site ticket sales will not be available when the parks reopen. Book in advance!
New Disneyland Paris Attractions
“Cars Route 66 Road Trip” and “Disney Junior Dream Factory” are still scheduled to open “soon” at the Walt Disney Studios Park. The Cars attraction is a retheme of Catastrophe Canyon to Cars Route 66.

Let’s Hear From You
Do you like the way Disneyland Paris is handling their reopening? Does it seem simpler than what is being attempted at Walt Disney World? Are you ready to visit the Disneyland Paris Resort? With the guaranteed lower crowd levels, it’s certainly an opportunity for theme park fans. The Louvre and other famous Paris attractions will be reopening before Disneyland Paris (the Eiffel Tower reopens this week and the Louvre on July 9th), so there will be many things to see and do in Paris.
