In today’s 10 Minutes of Magic, we’re giving you an opportunity to reflect. Or rather, watch reflections of people walking into Ellen’s Energy Adventure at the Universe of Energy pavilion at EPCOT. This is a zen video, it’s not intended to thrill, but rather to provide a moment of theme park meditation. Although the ride has long since departed (to make way for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy coaster), you can still enjoy the area’s background music and maybe see a spout of water reflecting off of the mirrored walls in this video.
This attraction went through two different versions, “Universe of Energy” and “Ellen’s Energy Adventure”. In Ellen’s version, guests joined her in learning about the various forms of energy, including the origin of fossil fuels as well as renewable energy, to become a Jeopardy champion. Guests took an extended tour through a diorama of prehistoric dinosaurs and watched several videos of the history of energy to ultimately become the winner of the show. Ellen’s Energy Adventure closed back in August 2017, but I still appreciate the simple beauty of the show building.
What is Ten Minutes of Magic?!
This daily video series is designed to put you into a moment in time at a specific location in a theme park. The camera is in a fixed location which opens up a window for you to view everything that happened during that 10 minutes. We don’t talk over the video or move around. If you are looking for full attraction videos, that’s not what this particular series is all about. These videos are more akin to meditation.
Relax, gather the family together, and enjoy your 10 minutes of theme park zen!
