If you are looking for classic American comfort food with a right-at-home feel and a twist of nostalgia, then 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the place for you! Take a step back in time into Mom’s house, where the living room is welcoming and Dad’s at the bar; everyone is family here, even if you’re not related. But don’t forget your manners: Mom doesn’t like elbows on the table, and hats don’t belong at the table either.  Let’s take a seat at Mom’s table at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe and see what she’s been cooking up.

Our Family’s Review

50’s Prime Time Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants at Hollywood Studios. However, the atmosphere and character of the restaurant is not for everyone. Our family really enjoys the interactions with the Cast Members; it’s a little like being in an extended comedy skit. Boiled down, the restaurant is homestyle dining and atmosphere, a little garish, and the servers (playing mom, sister, uncle, or big brother) can sometimes be cantankerous . . . but in a loving way, just like home.

If you’re feeling hungry, then this is the place to go. The entrees are plentiful, and comfort food always sounds appetizing (to me at least!). Among the dishes we ordered, the fried chicken was the biggest of the meals we had. But Meatloaf, Spaghetti, Pot Roast, Pork Chop, and other homestyle favorites are all worth giving a try. Overall, we enjoyed the food and are always looking forward to our next visit. However, our little guy did not like the raspberry filling in his cupcake. But, our server happened to hear him say “Ewww” and surprised us bringing a plain vanilla cupcake in its place. Gotta love Cast Members that go above and beyond.

Reservations are highly recommended and may be made 180 days in advance. Seating at the Tune-In Lounge is limited on a first-come basis. Some dining plans and discounts are accepted.
