Planning a visit to Walt Disney World after February 19th? We’ve got some great news for you. You can now begin scheduling flights on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios via FastPass+.
The addition of the new ride to the system was not without hiccup, and the FastPass system temporarily crashed for all four parks early this morning.
Smuggler’s Run is a motion-simulator ride where guests are “recruited” to go on an intergalactic space adventure run by the infamous smuggler Hondo Ohnaka. Guests get to sit in the famous Millennium Falcon cockpit as they control the famous ship and steal cargo that is valuable to the Resistance.
The addition of FastPass+ is sure to affect the stand-by line, as FastPass usually causes increased wait times for guests who are not using the system. This is sure to be a great option for planners, but not as exciting for those of you who like to just walk up and experience an attraction.
The next step Disney should make is adding FastPass+ to the very popular Rise of the Resistance attraction. As of now, the only way to get on Rise of the Resistance is to obtain a boarding pass early in the morning on the day you’d like to ride. Having a FastPass+ option would be a huge time-saver for guests. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for Disney to make the switch over to FastPass+ for that attraction as well.
