As of Sunday, January 5th, Disney’s Pop Century Resort has rolled out a new bus schedule: routes to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot will be reduced to just once per hour. Guests are being urged to use the Skyliner instead.

Since the Disney Skyliner opened, there’s been speculation as to how long it would be before other transportation options were cut back.
The Disney Skyliner offers quick, direct transportation to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from connected resort hotels, including Disney’s Pop Century Resort. But, what happens when lightning strikes and the Skyliner service is frequently disrupted? We’ve yet to see how Disney will handle Skyliner operations during the thunderstorm season, since the gondolas only recently opened to guests in late September 2019.
Guests with a fear of heights, or who are sensitive to heat will also be negatively impacted by this change in transportation options.
On another note, Epcot resorts with direct boat transportation have previously cut back or completely eliminated their bus transportation option.
We reached out to the other resorts connected to the Disney Skyliner, Disney’s Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Riviera Resorts – According to each Guest Services representative, none of these resorts have or plan to, reduced bus schedules at this time. Which is interesting – since Pop Century and Art of Animation share their Skyliner station.
