The Mandalorian on Disney+ has that classic Star Wars magic we’ve come to know and love. With the addition of Galaxy’s Edge to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World this past summer, we’re wondering what kinds of expansions and changes could be made as the land continues to evolve. So, after finishing the first season of The Mandalorian, we’ve come up with a list of things we think would be fun to see adapted for Black Spire Outpost.

Let’s start with one we know we can’t have, but desperately want anyways:

The Child aka “Baby Yoda”

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The Child has taken the internet by storm, leading The Mandalorian to be one of the most-streamed shows on any platform. But as much as we wish we could have him, we can’t; Baby Yoda doesn’t fit the timeline of Galaxy’s Edge. The show takes place several years before the events of Galaxy’s Edge. But that’s not to say that he couldn’t visit Batuu later on in his life. At this point, we have no idea what will happen to him in Season 2.

So, let’s offer a solution for the short-term. Baby Yoda is technically a puppet and could have meet-and-greets in Star Wars: Launch Bay, away from any continuity issues. In the past, Disney has had meet-and-greets with puppets like Constantine from Muppets Most Wanted and Marshmallow from Frozen, so the idea isn’t unwarranted. Perhaps the titular Mandalorian can meet there as well, there are plenty of empty and underutilized rooms in the building.

Blurrgs

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The noble steed of the Ugnaught Kuiil, the Blurrgs would fit in with all the other creatures already referenced in Galaxy’s Edge. While we’d love to see full-sized ones trotting around (much in the same way we’d love to see other creatures, like Banthas), we may have to settle for tiny Blurrgs for sale in Bina’s Creature Stall. Would you like a cuddly Blurrg?

IG Droids

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The deadly assassin droids, IG-series units, would be very appropriate with the bounty hunter-esque feel of Black Spire. Since they’re programmable, they could serve all kinds of interesting purposes if WDI wanted to get creative. The idea of turning one into a nurse droid in the Mandalorian was nothing short of inspired (I won’t give away why). But a simple IG droid could be placed almost anywhere in the land and work as an interactive character. To be fair, there’s one hidden up in the rafters of Dok-Ondar’s, but I’d like to see one in action, what about you?

Ice Cream Maker Portable Safes

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

Here’s a quirky one if you aren’t aware of it. In Empire Strikes Back, during the evacuation of Cloud City, a man is seen running with what looks like an ice cream maker. The creators of The Mandalorian decided to explain exactly what that prop was. He wasn’t a foodie, he was saving a portable safe. In reality, the thing was still just an ice cream maker, but now we have a wonderfully silly prop.

This seems like something that should show up in Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. I don’t know what I want to put in it, but I’d for sure find something if I could purchase my own ice cream maker safe.

Bounty Hunter Guild

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The Bounty Hunter’s Guild is Mando’s main source of income. We know it’s populated by a large number of bounty hunters, as confirmed by all the people that come after Mando and The Child. Considering the Wild West atmosphere of Black Spire, there has to be some sort of Bounty Hunter’s Guild. Currently, we have the “Scoundrel” faction, but that’s generally made up of individuals. Perhaps Galaxy’s Edge can receive something more organized beyond Oga’s criminal unit.

The Darksaber

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The season’s big reveal of Moff Gideon wielding the fabled Darksaber in the finale has created a lot of interest in his backstory. Considering the Darksaber has been around since The Clone Wars animated series, we’re surprised they aren’t already selling it at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. He’s already got a great selection of legacy lightsabers, so adding Tarre Viszla’s unique saber would probably create a shopping frenzy.

Mandalorians

, 7 Things from the Mandalorian We’d Like to See in Galaxy’s Edge

The Mandalorians, followers of an ancient martial order, are a big focus in the Disney+ series. At the time of the series, they’ve been sent into hiding by the Empire. But where are they years later when Galaxy’s Edge takes place? Hopefully, that’s something the show will answer in the next season.

In the meantime, having some Mandalorians creeping around the outpost, similar to Vi Moradi, could breathe a little more life and variety to the dark corners of Black Spire. Considering we still don’t know the fate of a certain green and red armored bounty hunter who was pushed into a Sarlacc pit by Han Solo, we could potentially see Boba Fett pop up at some point as well (although the discussion on whether he’s actually a Mandalorian is another topic).

If we want to get into merchandising, Dok-Ondar’s is a great place to start, but we’d rather see these bounty hunters lurking about the marketplace. What about you?

Let’s Hear From You

Those are just a few of the wonderful things that The Mandalorian has introduced that could probably be adapted to Galaxy’s Edge. What do you think?
